All week I’ve been one day ahead. Which sucks because tomorrow is not SATURDAY. Ugh. One more day of the grind.
Why do I say things like grind? I over exaggerate dear ones. My work does not involve grinding. Lol. Now that was be a sight. Not for sore eyes but a sight all the same.
Any who.
Ambien is no bueno. Ask anyone. Was suggested I get an RX for some cuz ya know, the not sleeping is slowly killing moi. My friend told me about her Ambien experience. She was riding horses all night while dressed like a Gladiator. No joke. Her body was rested but her mind went through a medieval tournament.
Wait am I in the wrong era?? Why do I not get a simple yes or no answer when I Google “do gladiators joust?” SIMPLE yes or no people!!!!!
I have heard worse. The Ambien defense. And once a while back while grieving my parents deaths, I filled the Ambien RX. Read the possible side effects and was like uh hell to the no. Did not take a single pill. I am sure B would watch out for me but good god. The risk! I am risk adverse. One day I will sleep again. Until then … I won’t. Uh duh.
I left work a bit early today … I don’ feel guilty … but I DO. Despite the three prior 10 hour days. I’ll hit my 40 @ 9 am tomorrow. I left because I needed to find a purple shirt. Ya see tomorrow we purple out. In support of military children. April is their month. Can’t think of a better reason to purple out.
Off I went to Target. The only purple was a man’s polo. I am a medium-sized man or a large woman. The sweet clerk told me not to feel bad. To him I looked like a small man cuz the shirts are cut slim; everyone is a size up. Hmmm, alrighty then.
I really don’t care y’all. But I DO! Though I shouldn’t. If I could only turn off that little voice inside my head.
As always, more to come.
I read your first line and went “ME TOO!” I was so sad to find out Wednesday wasn’t Thursday. Ugh, we were cheated somehow, I just know it, Jilly!
I took Ambien once, in 2006. I did sleep. It did make me sleep. It made me sleep so well, I didn’t hear my toddler crying in her crib, or know the other one was up doing God knows what, until my eldest daughter woke me to tell me because I slept so well, I didn’t hear my alarm. I was so drugged and dazed, I had to call my husband’s cousin to come over and take my kids to school and help me with the wee ones until I was okay, which, by the way, was mid-afternoon. It was NO BUENO for me, despite how well it works for two of my friends.
In 2010, my therapist gave me ativan, and that proved to be very helpful for sleeping. My anxiety isn’t as high these days, so I have found 3mg of melatonin now is a lot like half a gram of ativan then.
Definitely something to discuss with your dr. You could always try whatever out on the weekend and see how you fare. And you’ve got yer fella to keep an eye on you, as you say.
There comes a time when not sleeping — long term sleep dep — affects too many things, and we don’t want you in that group. ❤

Now that’s what I’ve heard about Ambien. More negatives. Though with your two friends and one of mine, makes at least three for who it works. Lucky people.
Something working is a novelty for me. Melatonin never helped me. My sleepy time tea seems too. Simply Sleep which I tried on the advice of my nightmare horse riding friend does a little and once I’m done with those, I’m getting some Zzzzquil.
I don’t go back to my current doc until August but now I’m thinking I should try to get in sooner. In fact I owe you a thanks Chica. I wasn’t even considering long term effects.

Yeah, get in there. I drink Sleepytime too 🙂 (Also good for my stupid weather headaches.)

Ambien is bad news. Unless you want to end up naked behind the wheel after running over a bunch of pedestrians. I use Benedryl or Dramamine when I need help sleeping.

I’m game to try anything. Might try Benadryl next.

I have taken Ambien for a long time. Have never been jousting or anything near…lol! I admit I cannot sleep without it. There are times when it didn’t put me to sleep, sometimes all night. Dr said you can become immune to it but side effect of quitting will be worse, as in never sleeping soundly. Mine are extended release so I can fall asleep and stay asleep. So most of the time they work and I don’t have wild dreams or drive my car…haha!

That’s good to know. I should probably ask my doctor. I need to sleep. This is the worst it’s been.

The label’s wrong. I can see from your words that you are plainly a small man!
