Okay well we should have know this could happen but we hoped it’d be a few more years yet.  The company B works for has been SOLD.  As of 11/30/18, it will be no more :(.

He is surprisingly calm.  I am ready to live under a bridge.  Any Who.  What are you  gonna do.  Roll with the flow I guess.

    1. Thanks Laura. The sale was leaked prematurely by someone not staying on. B keeps getting more details. His skill set is very niche and his phone has been ringing off the hook. I think he’ll land on his feet. Only time will tell.

  9. I was laid off in 2012 when my company was bought out and redundancies were eliminated from the new parent company. I am sorry for his situation. Hang in there.

    1. Thanks Tony! More info is being shared as it becomes available. An agreement to retain current staff for a bit supposedly but wondering if that can really be enforced. He is very optimistic though so there is that.

  10. You’re right, the best you can do at this point is to roll with it. B is probably calm because he’s ready for whatever happens. In any event, there’s nothing anyone can do but wait and watch. I believe that these things happen for a reason, and that whatever happens is going to be the best for the two of you. Please, don’t go live under a bridge. You’ll get through this, together.
