About Me

Hello to the small microcosm of the virtual universe that may stumble upon this blog.

Mi nombre es  Jill (yes JILL is my real nombre).  I am 50 something years young as my daddy would have said.  I am married to Billy Bob and we have two kids – Pony Boy and Lulu. Pony Boy is married so really I have three kids – my darling daughter in love Wise Beyond Her Years.  The bold italics are pseudonyms.  You’ve guessed it; I can’t pull the wool over your eyes – wink wink!  I have purposefully left off additional adjectives to describe us because life ain’t that sweet y’all. And because I am trying to keep it real.  I COULD put on a show of sunshine and roses; faux perfection but I WON’T.

I blog from the heart as a way to fill time now that Billy Bob and I are empty-nesters.  Most “stories” are real in that everything I write is based on my observation and unique perspective with some slight embellishment to bring levity and/or name changes to protect the guilty.  Official disclaimer: This is a mostly work of fiction or not. Any names or characters, businesses or places, events or incidents, are fictitious. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental.

We live in a sleepy little town, down around San Antone named China Grove – truth! Such a place does exist.  Blink and you’ll miss it, all 1200 of us (per the 2010 census).  Doobie Brothers – Rock on wit ur bad selves!!  C’mon y’all now that’s funny.  Laugh always.  Doing so makes the unbearable bearable.

    1. Thank you Debbie. More people are sharing and that’s how I found you. Flying through water I think. I was captivated by the idea of forgiveness. A lesson I need to learn. I’m lucky to have found up.

  1. Hey Jill, I see you’ve mentioned my blog page – thank you!

I only had you in ‘follow by reader’ as you don’t have an automatic ‘follow by email’ but I’m posting this to you so I can, because follow by email only comes up if a comment is submitted, & I don’t use the reader, only email notifications.

    But that’s fixed now.

    Daria.

  2. Hey Jill, I’m about to become an empty nester when #2 moves out this week. We’ve been practicing being half way there for the last year! Thank you for the follow of my blog – I’m off to roam around yours now 🙂

    1. I found you through meet and great. My lucky day! Welcome and thanks for the follow. I’d like to say the empty nest gets easier but so far not the case. At least I recognize that I’m the one who has a problem. 😭

      1. Not at all. We were counting the hours for her to go back to school for spring semester. It’s very true you can’t go home again. In all fairness, she was counting the hours too. It’s bittersweet.

  3. Hi Jill! Thanks for the follow. I’m looking forward to reading your ramblings especially how you and Billy cope with the empty nest. I haven’t even started laying them eggs, lol! Toodles.

  4. How lucky am I that you commented on a comment I left on Tony’s post today…I love what you’ve shared and the way you’ve shared it and will definitely be “following” you from here on out….and, I am freaking out in my head right now because I love divine connections that come to be….my “About” makes reference to S.E. Hinton…”The Outsiders”….and you reference Pony Boy….now, to my mind, that is proof positive that you and I are going to click very well…no pressure…anyway, my mane is Truly and it is so lovely to meet you 🙂
