Feel Good Friday & Happy Birthdays: In Memory of Cee

Well hello Friday you saucy beast! (Watching too much Dancing with the Stars) LOL. I ❤ Bruno.

Flowers are the beauty in this world.” FHRW

That’s the first comment my biological father ever made on my Facebook page — back in 2022. His words appeared beneath a video of blooming senesa (Texas sage), alive with bees 🐝. I can still recall the exact moment and how it felt to see his reply — like a hit of dopamine. The elephant (Jilly J-Dub) never forgets. Ha-ha.

At first, to remember Cee, I was only going to post this beauty from the San Diego Zoo—

Crimson Bottlebrush

Then I thought, why not make a gallery?

Everything green in my life, I come by naturally. I belong to a long line of farmers, apple pickers, and plant propagators—family members, both maternal and paternal, born and made—who worked in (and sometimes owned) gardens and nurseries.

One of my earliest memories is digging in the dirt. Zinnias were always the seeds I chose. Every year, the flower box outside our back door bloomed with my handiwork—or nature’s, as the case may be.

This is for Cee—to remember her for the beauty she brought to WordPress through her challenges, and for all my ancestors who kept things growing. 🌱🍃

🥳 wishing you both very happy birthdays.

As always, more to come.
