Share Your World ~ 3/21/23

Di is back with the challenge & I’m tossing in my 2 cents. Today is a lucky day with that palindrome date 32123. Maybe I should play the lottery?!? HERE are the rules & ping back if you’d like to join in.

1.   Do you use an ‘air freshener’ in your home/car/office? (solid, gel, spray, pot pourri, etc) I do! We mainly use scent bulbs from Bath & Body works – fancy Glade plug-ins. Lilac or Rose are my absolute favorite smells. A few folks believe they’re too strong & others like my nephew can have a migraine onset from air fresheners or candles.

Okay so here’s a memory/story wanting to be told. My mom made her own air freshener back in the day. Orange peels for one. If we peeled an orange for any reason, the peels were strategically placed around the house & later collected when the scent went away. The other was cloves. If she felt really randy, she’d make a concoction with water. Oranges & cloves will forever remind me of the only momma I ever knew.

2.   How often do you clean the oven or microwave? Daily … yep I’m one of those. Basic wipe down after use prevents the big messes from gettign stuck.

3.   Do you use a fabric conditioner in your laundry and/or fragranced tumble drier sheets? Yes, I use dryer sheets due to static cling more than for the scent.

4.   If you have the choice, do you prefer to get your laundry dry outside on a line or use a tumble drier? I don’t even have a clothes line any longer. Growing up, I remember helping to hang laundry to dry outside & rushing to pulling the items down if a rain shower surprised us. I remember (or think I remember) clothes being “crunchy” which is why we switched to dryer for most everything except sheets when I was around 8 or 9. I prefer to dryer though I bet line dry is better for the environment somehow. Maybe I should look into that. Oh & I do have some clothes that are line dry only since I reuse to by anything that is dry clean only. I’ll layout my work shirts or whatever else. Fortunately with business casual, I can get machine wash, tumble dry low for most outfits.

Gratitude: Each day has a fresh start, so don’t dwell on bad yesterdays. I love this thought because everyone deserves a 2nd chance. We can’t go backwards so dwelling on bad yesterdays never solves anything. Forget it & move on which is easier said than done. This reminds me of “never go to bed angry” for some reason.

  1. I prefer to dry things outside, especially bed linen and towels. On the boat we had to use the laundry room’s washer and dryer which set us back a fiver a week. When interviewed for a radio programme, I was asked what I missed from land living and I said y washing line. Everyone found this hysterically funny, guess they were thinking TV (we haven’t had one since 2007). First thing Hubby did here was put a washing line up!
Never got to bed angry only keeps you awake . We never sleep on an argument, not that we argue often, but we do differ in opinions sometimes.
Thanks for joining in again this week.

    1. That is funny in a good way. Very cool to be interviewed for radio. My hubby & I don’t argue much either. We’re usually pretty aligned on things. Thanks for hosting. This is one of my favorite weekly prompts.
