As a family, Sunday evening TV viewing was most enjoyable. We’d watch Hee-Haw, The Wonderful World of Disney, & you guessed it Wild Kingdom. I think Jacque Cousteau may have been on Sundays too but my memory fades. I just remember time we spent together, watching & snacking because we rarely ate supper on Sundays. Instead lunch after Mass was enough to fill us up. But a nibble in the evening never hurt anyone. We’d take vanilla ice cream, sprinkle & mixed in Nestle’s Quik. Boy that was good eating. And yeah one might say TV is bad for you blah, blah, blah but it was never about the show, The bond was in the communal watching & discussing of said shows. Also you can give me some Barnaby Jones, Quincy, or Mannix to watch again anyday. Haha!
I love my family. Missing several who are gone too soon. I get nostalgic & sentimental these days. I yearn for simpler time. Yet I’m forever grateful.
