Linda says Your prompt for JusJoJan January 22nd 2023, is “seasonal.” Use the word “seasonal” any way you’d like. Have fun! Kaye supplied the prompt word. Visit Kaye’s blog to read her posts and say hello. HERE are the rules and ping back.

Seasonal allergies 🤧 is all I can think of. But much better is seasonal artisanal coffee. I’ve returned to the mothership. Yep that’s what we call home office. Since then, my Starbucks addiction is back in full force. And with my Invisalign, I’m not even supposed to drink coffee. But I time my guilty pleasure for Mondays only since Tuesdays I get new trays. That’s how I justify it anyway.

Pumpkin spice latte isn’t my jam. This season, they introduced Apple oat milk macchiato. In honor of family who worked in the apple orchards of Chelan, WA, that became my go to drink. But it was seasonal so it’s gone. 😒 Replaced by pistachio latte which is close but so cigar. Anyway, that’s all she wrote until new time.

As always more to come.

Jim prompts us with country music. Thanks Jim! HERE are the rules & ping back if you’d like to join in.

I’m a self proclaimed 70s rocker chick but, and it’s a big but, my parent’s liked country music so by default I listened to a lot of it growing up. George Jones, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Merle Haggard, Marty Robbins, Charley Pride, & the list goes on and on. I may be here awhile trying to pick a favorite. Oh who am I kidding, all the artists are my favorite. Guess I’ll go with Hank Williams Sr., Jambalaya (on the Bayou).

Goodbye Joe me gotta go me oh my oh
Me gotta go pole the pirogue down the bayou
My Yvonne the sweetest one me oh my oh
Son of a gun we’ll have big fun on the bayou

Jambalaya and a crawfish pie and filé gumbo
Cause tonight I’m gonna see my ma cher amio
Pick guitar fill fruit jar and be gay-o
Son of a gun we’ll have big fun on the bayou

Thibodaux Fontaineaux the place is buzzin’
Kinfolk come to see Yvonne by the dozen
Dress in style and go hog wild me oh my oh
Son of a gun we’ll have big fun on the bayou
Settle down far from town get me a pirogue
And I’ll catch all the fish in the bayou

Jambalaya and a crawfish pie and filé gumbo
Cause tonight I’m gonna see my ma cher amio
Pick guitar fill fruit jar and be gay-o
Son of a gun we’ll have big fun on the bayou

Later on, swap my mon, get me a pirogue
And I’ll catch all the fish on the bayou
Swap my mon, to buy Yvonne what she need-oh
Son of a gun we’ll have big fun on the bayou

Jambalaya and a crawfish pie and filé gumbo
Cause tonight I’m gonna see my ma cher amio
Pick guitar fill fruit jar and be gay-o
Son of a gun we’ll have big fun on the bayou

Sunday Reflections: A Week in Review ~ 1/22/23

This month has been nice to double up on my writing. Letting out feelings is always good. When I first started blogging in earnest, to combat my empty nest, I posted a lot more. I realized I had to pace myself to avoid burnout & while I still post daily, multiple times a day posting only happens in January & April.

I’m coming undone as I’m coming to terms with things I don’t really like but must accept. Yesterday was one of those really good days though. I was distracted by things I enjoy like baking a completely from scratch pecan pie for B’s 59th birthday coming up tomorrow. Later today we will celebrate because Monday is a typical work day & we’d rather savor the occasion not rush around.

Okay, time once again for roll call. And awaaaaay we go …
