We are kicking off the first Saturday, of the last month of 2022, yipee! I was just messaging with my cousin & we agreed we’d like to just go to bed and wake up in 2023. Even if that means missing the rest of December which can be really stressful at times. Forced! Family! Fun! is what my former boss called the holidays but she said they were anything but fun in her family. I’ve got mixed feelings of late but will save that for another post. Right now we have #SoCS in da house where the lovely Linda G Hill writes and I copy paste: Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “twin/tween.” Use, “twin” or “tween” any way you’d like. Bonus points if you use both. Enjoy! HERE are the rules & ping back.
Tween is some made up sH!t. Oh how salty. LOL. But seriously, tween was probably a fairly recent addition to Webster’s. We didn’t have the word tween when I was 11/12. No time to stop & research when tween became a thing. Plus in my pursuit of bonus points, we gotta keep the stream alive. Let’s move along to twin.
Okay, this is some next level stuff. I have always been taken by genetic mirroring. A fascinating topic to address in yet another post. Let’s just say I do stop & stare & might make comments of striking similarities. I never really looked like anybody, a hodgepodge. But I wanted to favor my mother & her sister with their porcelain skin. Instead I took a little bit from the whole long line of relatives to be the composite that Jilly. Then, in June of 1988, my twin was born. Yep, my first born sonshine is my twin.
I remember once while shopping for a wedding gift at the now defunct Mervyns (open, open, open) when Pony, about age 3 or 4, knocked over a basket of napkin rings. They went rolling around everywhere. He was such a handful but a sweet lil guy. Instead of being upset, I made a game of put the napkin ring back in the basket. He loved that! I got one mom! all giggling & excited, then he’d run it back to me. A fellow customer saw all this happening and stopped to help collect the rings. When she bent down & saw us eye to eye, she remarked quite loudly “you two definitely belong together”. Here’s proof – what say ye people of bloglandia? Twin or no twin.
And with that I’m calling it. This weather around here is bleh. From cold, to hot, to muggy/misty as all get out. And we’re getting so much rain but I’m not complaining about that at all y’all. Rain is always welcome here, making up for the drought. We’ll take it!
As always, more to come.
