#SoCS ~ 4/9/22

How did I miss this connection? I should’ve did a combo A-to-Z and #SoCS considering today’s prompt word. How is as good of a H word as any. More specifically Linda writes and I copy paste: Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “how.” Use the word “how” in your post. Bonus points if you start your post with it. Enjoy! If you’d like to join in, HERE are the rules and ping back.

Victory aka bonus points scored!

How, Who, What, When, Where, Why … the famous five W’s and a H. To be used in story telling and as information gathering. I use this method at work for root cause analysis. But I’m not at work now. I’ve come to realize that work has overtaken my life. Even when I’m off the clock. And because I’m always overthinking, it’s exhausting.

I see so many people taking the leap of faith. How can they do it? How are they so brave? Living there best lives, always on vacation, making important things their priority, not doing what is expected or is thought to be expected. How glorious that would be. If only, …

Lulu and I walk every Saturday. I nice leisurely stroll along the famous San Antonio River. We walk from the Pearl where my daddy used to work to the building where I used to work. Last Saturday my sister and her girls where here at the Pearl and we didn’t even know about it until they were practically leaving. How could this happen?

The sad part is Lulu and I where at the Pearl too. Same place, different time. So close and yet so far. I was crushed. And I’m left wondering more why than how? Why didn’t they tell us they were going to be here? Nobody likes me everybody hates me I’m gonna eat some worms … Who thought that one day that campfire song would come right back into my memory.

I’m a little bit Ziggy right now for those who remember the character. That cartoon speaks to me. Womp Wa. Better get out my Umbrella. It’s going to be a bumpy night. And the day hasn’t even started.

As always, more to come.

  1. I had to read up a little on The Pearl and its history. Very interesting!
Concerning family dynamics, that is a how and why that many of us can’t answer. I hope next visit, your sister announces herself in a slightly more polite manner. You’re fine, just fine.

    1. It really is very interesting history. Did you read about Mr. Koehler and his wives all named Emma and his untimely demise. Very scandalous. Right now we’re making plans to stay a the hotel Emma for an indulgent get away.

I won’t assume ill intent anymore regarding impromptu visiting. That would’ve been more if hadn’t said anything. As usual I’m being overly sensitive. So many other dynamics are at play.

  2. Good one, Jill. I used to work in a building on McCullough that backed to the river. When the walk was finished to that point, I would walk to the locks during lunch. It was so peaceful. Thanks for the memories.

    1. Cheers to good memories. Lulu and I just walked past McCullough this morning. There was a chaotic scene that I’ll blog about when I process what happened. The locks are very peaceful. I really miss working downtown.
