#SoCS ~ 4/30/22

Hola, a todas mi amigos. Hello to all my friends. Time once again for #SoCS where our lovely Linda writes and I copy paste Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “zip, zero, zilch.” Use one, use ’em all, bonus points if you use all three. Have fun! Tp join in the fun and frolic, HERE are the rules and ping back.

I’ve been quiet this week and since I scheduled A to Z, I didn’t feel like I had to double up. Yesterday I hit 1355 consecutive posts so I’m not stopping anytime soon. Nice to slow down the pace though.

Typically I’m zip, zip, zipping around like some sort of manic zipper person. Yeah, I’m MSU – making stuff up. I’m a certified workaholic who happens to love my job. And most days zip is an apt way to describe things. And I’ve got zero complaints about that. Zilch = none. Ha! There’s my bonus. Cha-ching! Bazinga!!

We’re changing it up a bit with a trip to the Botanical Gardens. From there we will go where the wind blows us. Then back home to take care of some bidness. I’m filing motions and notarizing forms and moving stuff around to prepare for future proofing things so I can retire without worries. Ah now that’s the stuff.

Wishing you all a wonderful Saturday. ta-ta for now.

As always, more to come.

Jilly’s A to Z for 4/30/22 – Zombie

Today is the final day. We made it folks! I didn’t get around to visiting as many of you as I had hoped. Life got in the way. Excuses, excuses. No more, I will make more time for reading. I think it’s road trip time soon. I’m looking forward to that.

Z is a difficult letter just like X … well and Q …. oh and all of them. I even went down to one word to make the haiku writing easier. I got nothing for zombie, not really but I knew a song so … that steered me here. Then I cobbled this together. Out with a whimper I guess.

Zombie

think, think, think, think, think

i’ve got nothing for zombie

‘Cept living dead girl

I’ve officially lost it. What was I thinking about? What are YOU thinking about? Belt out the words if ya know them or even if you don’t.

Ta-ta for now. Until next year. April 2023 to be exact.

As always, more to come.

Jilly’s A to Z for 4/28/22 – Xeric

Xeric

not a drop

xeric state of mind

succulent

Now that there is some prime USDA gobbledygook. LOL. Succulent to me sounds like opulent though they are not the same beyond ending with ‘ulent’ or maybe one can make a case of a connection. Succulents are plants adapted to store water making them xeric. That’s how we got here folks in case you were wondering. Succulent also means juicy and lucious. Opulent is lavious. So yep, loosely related. Now how about a song?

As always, more to come.

Jilly’s A to Z for 4/27/22 – Weight

Weight

weight that you carry

heavy brings you to your knees

lightness of being

We don’t talk about weight. We skirt around the subject. I grew up around big women with the exception of my mother who chain smoked her way into staying relatively thin. I loved these larger than life women fiercely for reasons that had zero to do with how they looked. One memory I have was just us girls going to Luby’s for a ladies lunch. I can vividly remember mom saying “A polite lady doesn’t eat all her meal”. Sometimes she’d even flick an ash from her cigarette onto the plate so as not to be tempted to take another bite. Yep once upon a time, you could smoke inside restaurants. Some even had a cigarette vending machine at the entry. Now I think WTF!

As with the rest of A to Z, music makes everything better. And not surprisingly, there are tons of songs that fit the weight/heavy theme. Decisions, decisions. Instead of going with physical weight, I’m going with the weight of the burdens we all carry. Helping each other, now that’s the stuff.

As always, more to come.

Sunday Reflections: A Week in Review ~ 4/24/22

First up, let’s summarize A to Z …

Now for the usual fodder …

Peace y’all. Until next time. Stay safe.

As always, more to come.

Oh My More MSU ~ 4/23/22

I think I mentioned I have an alt Twitter account. Everything about it is me except for the pseudonym. I have mixed feelings about it and feel like a fake a phony and a liar but more about that at another time.

The nice thing about Twitter is the character limitation. So you have to get your thoughts concise and to the point. I have to give a rationale on a court document and I went to Twitter land for assistance. Basically said all I want to tell the court is FU. Now how do I say just because politely. So many folks responded with helpful ideas that I got my case made. Now to find a notary.

Anyway I’ll eventually land this plane. WordPress has no such limitations. LOL.

An author who had just published her book re-tweeted my tweet and said see here this is what we have to deal with and it’s nonsense. She included a bunch of hashtags. And one of them was #60Minutes.

Well y’all know me. I got super excited. What if 60 Minutes sees the tweet and wants to interview me because you know I am the sun? Ha!

I’m not delusional. I know 60Minutes won’t interview me but what if the author has an ‘in’ that regular folks don’t? At a minimum I could make an online article. Or could be that my story which is sadly too common would be part of a composite.

Alrighty I will get on with the rest of my Saturday. I’ve got a library book to return. I’ve got a notary to find. I have some self-care to attend to. It’s going to be a banner day!

As always more to come.
