Pan the skyline for signals
Times toll of the bell
I had a really hard time with the prompts today. Feels a bit end of the world which loosely fits the theme. Without further ado, R.E.M. – It’s The End If The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine). Songwriters: John Michael Stipe / Michael E. Mills / Peter Lawrence Buck / William Thomas Berry.
That’s great, it starts with an earthquake
Birds and snakes, and aeroplanes
And Lenny Bruce is not afraid
Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn
World serves its own needs
Don’t mis-serve your own needs
Speed it up a notch, speed, grunt, no, strength
The ladder starts to clatter
With a fear of height, down, height
Wire in a fire, represent the seven games
And a government for hire and a combat site
Left her, wasn’t coming in a hurry
With the Furies breathing down your neck
Team by team, reporters baffled, trumped, tethered, cropped
Look at that low plane, fine, then
Uh oh, overflow, population, common group
But it’ll do, save yourself, serve yourself
World serves its own needs, listen to your heart bleed
Tell me with the Rapture and the reverent in the right, right
You vitriolic, patriotic, slam fight, bright light
Feeling pretty psychedIt’s the end of the world as we know it
It’s the end of the world as we know it
It’s the end of the world as we know it and I feel fineSix o’clock, T.V. hour, don’t get caught in foreign tower
Slash and burn, return, listen to yourself churn
Lock him in uniform, book burning, bloodletting
Every motive escalate, automotive incinerate
Light a candle, light a motive, step down, step down
Watch your heel crush, crush, uh oh
This means no fear, cavalier, renegade and steering clear
A tournament, a tournament, a tournament of lies
Offer me solutions, offer me alternatives and I declineIt’s the end of the world as we know it (I had some time alone)

Mountains sit in a line, Leonard Bernstein
Leonid Brezhnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester Bangs
Birthday party, cheesecake, jellybean, boom
You symbiotic, patriotic, slam but neck, right, rightIt’s the end of the world as we know it (time I had some time alone)

Quick recap of a whirlwind week that ended with some rest and self care. Donuts for breakfast with nice hot coffee. Doesn’t get better than this. Hope this week is good for all of us.
Peace y’all. Until next time. Stay safe.
As always, more to come.
Top-O-The-Morning to you my lovelies. Time once again for #SoCS. Where the cool kids congregate to create. Linda set us up with Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “rest.” Use it any way you like. Enjoy! To join the fun and frolics, HERE are the rules and ping back.
I went through a resilience course yesterday and learned a new acronym VUCA = Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous. Pronounced voo-ka. Our world is living la vida VUCA fer sure. We were challenged to re-write for ourselves a VUCA 2.0, reframe the membrane so to speak. I went with Vulnerable, Unity, Calm, Ability. The discussion was around stuff we should know but often ignore. Self care was a central theme. So finally landing the plane REST. I need some rest and I will NOT feel guilty about getting some some. Ya know what I mean … minds outta the gutter folks. LOL. JK.
What I really liked is this notion buster that resilient people have things easy. Oh contraire! Quite the opposite. Pressure makes you resilient, to keep going through adversity. A few people did a share and WOW, just WOW. Proves you never know what someone else is going or has been through. Heroes and angels are among us.
Okay, now I will close with a musical interlude before you get on with your hopefully restful weekends. This song popped right up when I saw REST. I used it in my April A-Z for 2021. Need to get thinking about my 2022 theme.
As always, more to come.
This week has been one for the memory books. For more reasons than one. There were some bright spots. On Monday we had a team builder with over 1500 people, then Tuesday we narrowed down to just our 30ish, then into small break out groups of 6. We told our origin stories. Dang y’all I learned SO much! We were being vulnerable and all. Several of us enjoy music and someone mentioned John Prine. His music got that person through the pandemic. Of course I had to look him up. To me, John is more of a storyteller but boy can he play the guitar. Here is one of his that I stumbled across after being given his name. I may just have a new favorite. Hope you enjoy as well.
As always more to come.
My thoughts are all jumbled, not sure if I can be coherent.
Alrighty people in the back row. Enough! 😉 I can virtually “hear” you laughing.
I’m always hard to follow, speaking with innuendo, and otherwise complicating even the simplest of things. Analysis paralysis is my middle name. Or overthinker. I’m a broken ticker overseer (BTO) for short. Great band!! That last part is an inside joke and actually pretty funny.
I’m going introvert today but I’ll be back later with more of the zany. If I can muster any levity in a world that’s gone crazy. Putin man just what have you done …
As always, more to come.

Today we should all play the lottery!!! Almost as good as hitting the numbers is Melanie’s #SYW. She sets up the questions and I give her my two cents worth 1/2 a penny.
Please feel free to share something good that happened to you in the past week.
Well not to beat a dead horse because ya know the horse is dead but I’m presenting a mission moment at our upcoming town hall. I have posted about this goodness twice already. Three is the charm or somebody stop me. This past Friday I had my virtual dry run. This week we’ve got another 15 minutes to fine tune. Then next Tuesday is dress rehearsal … ya really, we do that and then 3/2/22 is the BIG day.

Melanie suggested the prompts Automated, Mechanized, Modernized, Robotic and Jim is hosting. I struggled finding something beyond Mr. Roboto but I knew would be shared. I asked B and without much thought why not Black Sabbath’s Iron Man? Hmm, a guy who can time travel. That’s kinda mechanized. Or it’s a stretch but it’s all I got. Lyrics within.
