Rambling – 11/22/21

We started out the morning with a brisk 4 miler. Lol. Yep I act all sports like. Super enjoyable stroll with my Lulu who also happens to have the week off. How cool. Her first vacation as a working adult. #weareblessed.

We’re getting all the holiday shopping done. It helps we’ve shrunk in size. Makes it easier somehow. We’ll keep the memories of years past spent swinging from the rafters. Packed into grandma’s house. No sadness as I remember. Instead smiles and joy.

Ah this pedicure is heavenly. Ta-ta for now 😴.

As always more to come.

Sunday Reflections: A Week in Review ~ 11/21/21

What a difference a week makes. All better. And YES, I’d do it again. Considering the alternative, to me the booster was well worth it. Quick roll call, then off to wherever the wind blows us on this week long vacay.

Peace y’all. Until next time. Stay safe.

As always, more to come.

#SoCS ~ 11/20/21

Hello fine folks of bloglandia. This is Jilly J Dub coming at you live and giddy. Nine days of vacation have commenced. Kicking if off right is the one and only Linda G Hill and her #SoCS shenanigans. To join in, HERE are the rules and ping back.

Linda writes and I copy paste (been a hot minute since I’ve used that opener) Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “black, gray, and white.” Use one, use ’em all. Bonus points if you use all three. Have fun!

Okay I read the prompt lightning fast … seeing balls instead use ’em all. Cue AC/DC earworm. We’ve got the biggest balls of them all. RIP Bon ❤

Alrighty, back on track. Black, gray, white. Hmm. Think, think, and think …

More AC/DC – Back in Black … not to be confused with the movie Men in Black, or the streaming series Orange is the New Black. Moving on … nothing is see here.

Gray or grey … oh no here we go again, stream wants what it wants and in my case that is more earworms.

Next up is white because you know I have to get those bonus points. Fortunately for you, no additional songs are sneaking their way into my brain. Yea I said ‘their’ as if songs are alive. Because they are alive don’t ya know. My sweet Lord (hallelujah). And with that, I’m headed straight back to bed. Don’t plan to stay there my whole time off but starting out right with the I don’t wanna. so I’m not gonna philosophy. Happy Saturday folks!

As always, more to come.

Thursday Thoughts ~ 11/18/21

Where do I begin? So many swirling thoughts are flooding my brain. Got a feeling that I’m going under but I know that I’ll make it out alive (thanks Shawn Mendes). But this isn’t a lost love feeling. Thankfully I don’t have that on top of all my other woes. Counting blessings in an attempt to stay afloat. It’s just ….

Just what? Well hell if I know. If I knew, I wouldn’t be here philosophizing and such. I’d be out enjoying life. As I sit here pondering my emotional state, I realize that my life has changed in extreme ways that I never thought possible. Yet I minimize the aftereffects. Today I finally realize that acting like nothing has changed has worn out it’s welcome. I need to have a burial pyre for what’s gone so I can replace those feelings of loss with feelings of hope. Yep I know I call Hope a fickle bitch sometimes. Not today, giving Hope some much needed TLC.

I’m not able to verbalize what took me down this path of self reflection but today I got up and made it a point to reach out. Instead of sitting back and waiting or judging by what I saw online, I said I’m going to initiate. In two cases, the responses were so similar to mine it was eerie. One said “doing the best we can” and “stay in touch” while the other said “hanging in there”. And I thought these people were out there having fun without me. Extreme FOMO in my case. I was so sure I’d be starting out alone and brand new which is tricky for this introverted peoplely person. Yep still making up words. Some idiosyncrasies will stay. Okay, enough thinking and more action. Off I go into the wild blue yonder.

As always, more to come.

#1linerWeds. 11/17/21

Linda mentions a weird moon and I just read that starting this Friday in the wee hours of the morning we will experience a partial lunar eclipse. One for the record books I believe. But they are predicting cloudy weather to obscure viewing in Florida. Hope Texas weather fairs better. When I was younger I set an alarm for these events. But now, I prefer sleep. lol.

Alrighty enough blathering about. Here is my offering today. Borrowed from the masterful Rod Serling.

I need to get it out of my gut … write it down. This is the way it began for me.

Rod Serling

I stumbled across the above as I scrolled through Twitter last weekend. I knew I wanted it to be my one-liner. I sometimes refer to writing as releasing the hounds. Though lately, I find myself holding back. Time for a gut check. To join in, HERE are the rules and ping back.

Share Your World ~ 11/16/21

Melanie gives us some chewy questions. Yum!! Chewy. Like chocolate brownies.

In your opinion, what should be humanity’s goal? To raise each other up. You’re only as strong as your weakest link or something like that.

Are you hesitant to speak your opinions? Not any more but there is a time and a place. I learned that rather late in life. I am the proverbial people pleaser so if my opinions are contrary, I debate long and hard before spouting off. Is that hesitant or deliberate? You be the judge. I just know that life is too short and sometimes it is like talking to a brick wall when people have different opinions. You can be right or you can be happy. I choose happy!!

In what ways has society changed during your lifetime? What do you think caused these changes? Technology changes are out of bounds. I can only imagine what it was like for my parents or grandparents. The cause is evolution don’t you know ;).

If you had a friend who spoke to you in the same way that you sometimes speak to yourself, how long would you allow this person to be your friend? Hmmm, not very long. I’m my own worst enemy. Though I’m getting better about letting myself off the hook. Selfcare is a blessing.

GRATITUDE SECTION  (as always, optional)

Please feel free to share your moments of gratitude here.  I’m grateful for Tiff’s Treats cookie delivery. Nice warm cookies right to your doorstep. We ordered 3 dozen this past Sunday night. They have brownies too. Ooooh chewy 🙂
