#SLS ~ 11/7/21

Jim prompts us with past, present, or future. I’m not very original but I couldn’t think of anything else. Without further ado. Timbuk 3’s The Future’s So Bright ( I Gotta Wear Shades). Writer: Patrick Macdonald

I study nuclear science
I love my classes
I got a crazy teacher
He wears dark glasses
Things are going great, and they’re only getting better
I’m doing alright, getting good grades
The future’s so bright, I gotta wear shades
I gotta wear shades

I’ve got a job waiting for my graduation
Fifty thou a year’ll buy a lot of beer
Things are going great, and they’re only getting better
I’m doing alright, getting good grades
The future’s so bright, I gotta wear shades
I gotta wear shades

Well I’m heavenly blessed and worldly wise
I’m a peeping-tom techie with x-ray eyes
Things are going great, and they’re only getting better
I’m doing alright, getting good grades
The future’s so bright, I gotta wear shades
I gotta wear shades

I study nuclear science
I love my classes
I got a crazy teacher
He wears dark glasses
Things are going great, and they’re only getting better
I’m doing alright, getting good grades
The future’s so bright, I gotta wear shades
I gotta wear shades, I gotta wear shades

Sunday Reflections: A Week in Review ~ 11/7/21

That’s a wrap. Another week in the hopper. We fell back an hour overnight. I really hate that darkness will come around so early. We’re going into the part of the year that I hate. Seasonal depression is a thing y’all. I don’t care what my former therapist says about us not living close enough to the equator for seasonal depression to be a thing. Of course, maybe I’m making an excuse to be lazy and feel sorry for myself. Womp womp.

November is the annual anniversary of a pretty awful event. One I kept pretty close to the vest. We had a really rough patch from the Friday after Thanksgiving 2020 through April 2021 to include the Christmas Eve dust up. The worry that is a knot in my stomach hasn’t let up. Though I see glimmers of hope.

As Lulu and I bonded yesterday, I asked her how she felt about the anniversary. Better than me, she’s fine. Says it feels like another life. Like it didn’t happen to her. And right now things are sunshine and rainbows. I guess that’s successfully moving on. Whew! Now for me to do the same.

Alrighty, let’s put up the roll call.
