Melanie and that Evil Squirrel  are at it again. Yay us! My no frills website has me going the unvarnished route. Maybe one day I will spring for a premium site.

UNVARNISHED QUESTIONS

If you had the power to strike one person in your life permanently speechless, who would it be? (Real names aren’t necessary, vague descriptions are fine… and yes, this is being asked in fun and not to be mean) Funny you should ask. I was sure I would say my mother in law but then we’d have nothing to laugh about. That lady is hysterical with absolutely no filters to the point of being clueless as best and mean at her worst. Plus I don’t think anything could truly silence her, she’d find a way … with her there is always a way.

If you could relive your childhood over again, what’s one thing from this modern world today you’d want to take back with you? Nothing, I liked it better without all the modern pizazz.

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple are the standard colors of the rainbow. Name something you love (or greatly admire/appreciate) for all six major colors of the rainbow! (Sorry indigo, you’re just blue-purple.  Hot pink?  You’re too flashy!) Huh? LOL. Red cherries, Orange oranges, yellow bananas, green broccoli, blue skies, and purple horizons. Speaking of broccoli, check this out. We’ve got 3 now.

Our fall garden

If you were to open the world’s most accurate fortune cookie, what would your fortune inside it read? You will have a life full of laughter.

Santa’s tired of people leaving him out cookies and milk on Christmas Eve night!  If you really wanted to get on Santa’s good side, what would you leave out for him to eat/drink instead? (This question applies whether you celebrate Christmas or not.  It’s just for fun, so imagination?  Welcome!  ) Nothing says Christmas like eggnog with a shot of Wild Turkey. And to eat, a tamale chaser. Mhmm. I’m hungry.

Gratitude: What plans do you have for the upcoming holiday/celebration/festival season?    Telling on myself, we made the decision to skip putting up a tree. First time for everything though I tried to get away with this before now. Lulu always reeled me back in. Even last year when she went a bit off the deep end. But this year she is working. Says she doesn’t have the time … but then said she does but she wants to spend her time doing something different. Such a hassle and the work outweighs any joy for us. I take enough pleasure in seeing what everyone else does.

Sunday Reflections: A Week in Review ~ 11/28/21

I’m still on vacay mode so keeping it short & sweet, here is the roll call.

Peace y’all. Until next time. Stay safe.

As always, more to come.

Tidbits ~ 11/27/21

Well it started Thursday when Lulu Belle rushed home from festivities with the boyfriend. She was ill. Physically but mentally made worse. Gripped in worry that she would somehow relapse on this annual anniversary, I did nothing but tender a glass on ginger ale. Zipped my lips and fretted. I had already purchased movie tickets but was prepared to cancel. We retreated to the safety of our cocoons to sleep it all away.

Friday was as if nothing happened. We went to our matinee of Ghostbusters the Afterlife. A cute little movie that I recommend. The Easter eggs and cameos made my day. I even cried but to be fair I cry easily. For Harold in the credits broke the dam.

We opted to skip popcorn with her unsettled tummy. Amazing really. Food addicts that we are. We rarely skip movie snacks. Which means that after the movie we were both peckish. Leftovers it was, to save taco day for today. We both picked at our lunch. Afterwards, I was down for the count. I’ll spare to gory details but let’s just say I did something I’d turn handstands to avoid doing. My turn for some ginger ale. Of course my crazy mind had me with breakthrough vid. Despite nausea not being a likely symptom. Apologies to anyone who truly had this virus. I don’t make light. I’m just certifiable.

But I guess sleep cures all evils. Two good nights in a row. Today is A-okay. When the other shoe will drop remains to be seen but ever at the ready. I’ve been in self care book mode. Realized today is my second to last vacation day. Aaaahh. Now that’s the stuff. Mental anguish begone. We’ve got no time for you.

As always more to come.

#SoCS ~ 11/27/21

Good golly Miss Molly, sure like to ball …

And that’s what we have here today with #SoCS in da house. Where the lively Linda prompts us with Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “golly gee.” Use “golly gee” or another interjection that displays the same sentiment in your post. Enjoy! To join in, HERE are the rules and ping back.

Little Richard singing was close but no cigar. Those words however were all that popped into my brain and there they stuck. Like glue. No amount of thinking moved me away from the classic hit except for a vague memory of a 1960’s TV show where the Beaver or Dennis or some Eddie Haskell like kid says “golly gee”. And without the luxury of research, I’m toast. For today anyways. Wishing you a sensational Saturday folks.

As always, more to come.

#WATWB ~ 11/26/21

When I saw this article, I knew immediately that I would post it for today’s #WATWB. I feel the joy too. I’m convinced even more that there are angels on earth. Abraham is truly inspirational. We should all be more like Abraham.

Thursday Thoughts ~ 11/25/21

On this day, I am thankful for all the goodness in my life. I’m forever grateful for the experiences and lessons bestowed upon me. We remember the past. I sure do miss my parents, our grandparents, our brothers, and extended family who have gone before. I smile with the memories, flashbulb though they may be, and choose to blot out the sour notes. To me, this is a perfect day for reflection. We shouldn’t have to name it Thanksgiving and celebrate only one day a year.

“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”

― Ralph Waldo Emerson

Okay Ralph Waldo, I’m grateful for the sucky shit too. Tee Hee 😉

I know there are people protesting today. I know there are things in the world that are atrocious. I realize there are things we shouldn’t be paying homage to but in an effort to take the politics out of this day, I reclaim this time for something else. Repurpose. Evolve.

And with that, I’ll go back to enjoying a square of baked filling that was too much to make it into the pie. Yep crustless pumpkin pie for breakfast with a nice hot cup of coffee. Ah now that’s the stuff.

As always, more to come.

Using a Thanksgiving theme, this came from the TV show The Goldbergs. Their final season. Such a funny show relatable to those of a certain age. #TheEightiesRule

Geoff: giblets are not as cute as their name implies

Erica: yep giblets they’re a turkey butt full of guts

HERE are the rules and ping back.

Melanie gives us some questions. I add my two cents. Happy almost Turkey day folks.

QUESTIONS

What are some red flags to watch out for in daily life? I’m oblivious. Or everything’s a red flag. No middle of the road for me. Mostly I stay in my lane though.

What obstacles would you include in the ‘world’s most amazing obstacle course”? Something like the game show wipe out. That show looks like fun. Leap frogging across while dodging a punch. Pow right in the kisser.

Who is the best movie or book villain in your opinion? Scar from The Lion King. Yep I’m a dork.

What, in your opinion, is the most beautiful/handsome part of your face? My eyes. The windows to my soul.

GRATITUDE SECTION 🦃🕊 Next week on Thursday, Americans celebrate Thanksgiving. What are some foods you enjoy for your festive celebration dinners? Broccoli and rice casserole. And this year the extra treat is the broccoli comes from our fall garden. Oh and the desserts. Making pie crusts from scratch like my Mamaw taught me. Though we’ve been partaking in desserts year round cuz everything in moderation including moderation. Tamales every Christmas and homemade egg rolls on NYE.

She’s a beauty

As always more to come.
