#SoCS ~ 10/2/21

Dan is hosing today since Linda is visiting him, David, and Cheryl at the bar. Party 🎉 time! Excellent! Said in my Wayne and Garth voice over voice. Look 👀 HERE for the rules and ping back. Look 👀 below for the prompt.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “inspire/aspire/expire.” Use them in any form you like. Use one, use two or use them all if you want. If you use two, you get bonus points! If you use all three, Cheryl will put your next drink on David’s tab. Enjoy!

I’ll take a sangria with my evening meal cuz ya know bonus points are about to be scored. 😂

Hi 👋 I’m Jilly and I’m a logophile. I learned that from Melanie a while back. Loves ❤️ me some words. Inspire, aspire, expire. Such excellent examples. All three of them. Even expire which might get a bad rap of the three.

My first thought 💭 was expired like in old milk 🥛 🤢 or worse dying but expire can be good. In the immortal words of Semisonic “every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end”. Expire as come to an end, cease but we never really cease. Get it? Well of course you do!

Still with me after that musical interlude? Let’s keep flowing. Yea buddy!!

Lately I’ve been inspired. I’m turning over a new leaf 🍂 daily. I’m biting my tongue and laughing incessantly… like a loon. I’m wearing my emotions on the outside. Saying what I feel and feeling what I say. Empowered. Yay me! Some may say “uh oh 🙄 she’s manic” but naw. Just the regular type of happy. Finding my groove. Me and Stella. I’ve not given up my snark though but I’ve found a way to channel my behavior appropriately.

I aspire to be better. To let go of what I can’t change and to make a difference where I can. In my own little corner of the world 🌎 I’m doing that. Training up the youngins to take my place. Precursor to my mass exodus aka part of the “Great Resignation” perhaps. This is supposed to be a new phenomenon but I swear it’s not the first time something like this has happened only for different reasons. No doubt the pandemic 😷 has changed us all. If I were still a student, I’d write a paper an A plus on it. And love every moment of the research.

And I am halfway thinking about going back to school. Don’t laugh. Time to finish my JD. And how old will I be in 2 1/2 years from now if I go forward with this plan? The same age I’ll be in 2 1/2 years from now if I don’t. Or I’ll take a shorter path to a Masters in Legal Studies. TomAto 🍅 Tu-mah-toe 🍅.

Boy what a stream! A long and rambling flow of nothing. Time to get going. Lulu and I are walking across the Robert L.B. Tobin Land Bridge this morning before the rain and while it’s cool. Then back home for lounging and relaxing with a nice sangria. Happy Saturday!!

As always, more to come.

  1. I enjoyed the musical interlude and I send you steadying vibes on your decision to go back to school. Just thinking about it makes you an inspiration to me. I hope you had a great walk.

    1. Thanks Maggie! It was wonderful out there yesterday. The deer are basically tame and get along well with the dogs people bring to the park. We’ll go back once the weather cools off.

    1. We really enjoyed ourselves. The online pictures are deceptive. The bridge is small and quaint. For safety reasons we couldn’t see the highway underneath but we sure heard all the cars. And deer 🦌 were everywhere. The dogs didn’t bother them and appears they’re used to humans too.

  2. Being inspired to go back to school is commendable, Jill. No time like the present!
In the meantime, aspiring to take a walk, relax and have a glass of wine on a Saturday is also commendable. Enjoy!

  3. Omg, how can you have been up for two hours already? Where do you live? I get up at the butt crack these days but even I slept in til 6 today. Great stream!! Loved every word! You are wide eyed and bushy tailed this morning, I can tell! I hope I come up with something half as good, if I get time, that is!

    1. I scheduled this post so at 4 I was still snoozing. We got up at 6 today for our walk. Waiting for daybreak to get started. Definitely excited for this trek.

      1. Ugh! You have way too much energy for me this morning! Taking care of my dad has me hit the ground running every morning. Does that count as a trek, lol!

  4. A nice sangria is yours (courtesy of David) along with a few bonus points. Great job. I love “… The same age I’ll be in 2 1/2 years from now if I don’t.” That’s the perfect answer to your own question! Good luck in all you do going forward, especially the relaxing this afternoon part.
