#SLS ~ 9/5/21

Jim gives us Carnival, Festival, Gala, Jamboree, Party suggested by Lady A. I went with when the party’s over sung by Billie Eilish. Written by her brother Finneas Baird O’Connell. Party is mentioned once in the song but it’s not festive. Such is life sometimes. I still love her voice and this live song. Finneas on piano is bonus score.

Don’t you know I’m no good for you?
I’ve learned to lose you, can’t afford to
Tore my shirt to stop you bleedin’
But nothin’ ever stops you leavin’

Quiet when I’m comin’ home and I’m on my own
I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that
I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that

Don’t you know too much already?
I’ll only hurt you if you let me
Call me friend but keep me closer (call me back)
And I’ll call you when the party’s over

Quiet when I’m comin’ home and I’m on my own
And I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that
Yeah, I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that

But nothin’ is better sometimes
Once we’ve both said our goodbyes
Let’s just let it go
Let me let you go

Quiet when I’m comin’ home and I’m on my own
I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that
I could lie, say I like it like that, like it like that

  1. It is hard to believe that Billie Eilish is only nineteen, as it seems like she has been around foe a while. I am guessing that she has fake fingernails on, as who would want anything like that, unless it was for show. Thanks for sharing this music Jill.

  2. I don’t really know anything about Billie Eilish except that she has Tourette Syndrome. Many of the younger people in my facebook group feel she’s a strong advocate. So, if for no other reason, I’m a fan.

    1. I’m glad you thought so too. In a interview she mentioned it’s a two octave song that she has trouble with any day of the week. She sure does make it look effortless though. **Hugs** right back to you !
