Time for #SoCS. Linda prompts us with hope. Alrighty. I can work with that. I mean c’mon. Who couldn’t use a little more hope. To join in, here are the rules and ping back.
Okay y’all. I started to write ✍️ my typical play on words using Hope as an anonymous female then calling her a fickle bitch. How rude! Said in my Mary Kate and Ashley playing Michelle on Full House 🏡 voice over voice.
Hope sustains people. And who am I to Judge 👩⚖️ Judy anyone else? Hey 👋 didn’t she make the news 🗞 recently for misbehaving? Oh well. Not stopping to google it.
My next thought 💭 bubble was about the albums our Glee Club made. First in 1976, 1977, then 1978 Truly amazing 🤩 that Sr. Teresa found people who donated their time to produce us. We sold the albums 💿 as a fundraiser. Joking that we were solid gold because we always sold out … to our parents.
On the 1977 album 💿 one of the songs was High Hopes. As I sit here now, the words come back.
Just what makes that little old ant
Think he’ll move that rubber tree plant
Anyone knows an ant, can’t
Move a rubber tree plant
I can pictures us in our red robes on risers temporarily set up in the church ⛪️ for better acoustics. We were the original scream-o. Lol 😂 BUT HE’S GOT HIIIGH HOPES. HES GOT HIIIGH HOPES. HE’S GOT HIGH APPLE 🍎 PIE 🥧 IN THE SKYYY HOPES!!!!
I’m a puddle over here. I sang that song 🎵 to my babies. Dang y’all when did I get so jaded. For shame. Hope you’re beautiful. I’m sorry I berated you. Oh how I missed you old friend. Welcome 🤗 back. You’ve been missed.
As awesome 😎 as ole blue eyes is, he’s got nothing on the StMM Glee Club. I’ve lived a blessed 😇 life. I’m eternally grateful.
As always, more to come.
And now I have an earworm!

Good one Jill. I so remember singing High Hopes to my kids too. I had a busy day yesterday and didn’t get here. Hope you have a stress-free week.

A fun post as usual! I remember my older sister singing “Hi Hopes” to me, but didn’t remember the movie or Ole Blue Eyes singing it, so this was a treat. I still don’t know why the ant would want to move a rubber tree plant, but I guess that’s not the point.

I remember someone asking Sr Teresa what a rubber tree plan even was. And yes what would possess that silly old ant to move a rubber tree plant. Haha 🙂

Good job! That song will stick around all day, but that’s OK. I hope you have a great weekend.

Quite the earworm. That album was full of them. Classics like Michael Row The Boat Ashore and Swinging on a Star.
I hope you have a good weekend too.
