Jim prompts us with old/new/borrowed/blue. I’m going with old. Specifically Grandpa Tell Me ‘Bout The Good Old Days performed by the Judds. Writer: Jamie O’Hara. This song reminds me of my daddy. I’ve been very nostalgic lately. Hope you enjoy.
Grandpa, tell me ’bout the good old days
Sometimes it feels like this world’s gone crazy
And Grandpa, take me back to yesterday
When the line between right and wrong
Didn’t seem so hazy
Did lovers really fall in love to stay
And stand beside each other, come what may?
Was a promise really something people kept
Not just something they would say and then forget
Did families really bow their heads to pray
Did daddies really never go away?
Oh, Grandpa, tell me ’bout the good old days
Grandpa, everything is changing fast
We call it progress, but I just don’t know
And Grandpa, let’s wander back into the past
And paint me the picture of long ago
Did lovers really fall in love to stay
And stand beside each other, come what may?
Was a promise really something people kept
Not just something they would say and then forget
Did families really bow their heads to pray
Did daddies really never go away?
Oh, Grandpa, tell me ’bout the good old days
Oh, Grandpa, tell me ’bout the good old days
I love their songs, and haven’t heard this one in a long time. Great choice. 🙂

Awe yes, one of my favorites. Love The Judds back in the day. You and I have a lot of common “back in the day” stuff. LOL! 🙂

LOL! Hope that you and Lulu can get your trip to Florida back on the schedule at some point. I’d still love to meet you in person. 🙂

We talk about it daily. She just got a new job and is probationary until 7/12, then she can take time off but she doesn’t want to yet, wants to make a good first impression … her words

That is great news! I wish her all the best on that. I’m in no hurry. LOL! I may have to have surgery on my foot. I’m meeting the surgeon on Friday. I’m not sure I’m ready to go anywhere yet. Our covid numbers are going back up so I wouldn’t even think about it this year, even fully vaccinated as I am. 🙂

Better safe than sorry. I’m not going out much either even with being fully marinated.
Good luck 🍀 with your appointment with your surgeon.

Just had it on the 8th, very hard to process not knowing but I’m still in that boat
At least I know what it is not

Sorry you are in limbo. I know that feeling. Hang in there! My appt. for tomorrow got cancelled. They scheduled me with the wrong dr. I talked to the Surgery Coordinator and now I wait for a call (probably tomorrow) to see when they can get me rescheduled. Ugh! At least I’m with the correct person now. 🙂

Lovely music Jill. Naomi and her daughter, Wynonna Judd were one of the most successful acts in country music history, charting 23 hit singles, winning five Grammy Awards for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, and eight Country Music Association awards. Naomi contracted Hepatitis C and Wynonna continued as a solo artist.

I really do like the Judd’s even though country is not my favorite genre
