See what Peter did here? Super creative. I hope you enjoy as much as I did. This song feels like a warm blanket. ā¤

Jim Adams’ Song Lyric Sunday gives us the chance to share familiar, and sometimes not so familiar, songs. This week the prompt is to find a song that includes the words Old, New, Borrowed, or Blue amongst the title or lyrics.

If you fancy sharing one of your favourite songs you can find out how to participate, and also listen to all theĀ great entries, here.

Unusually, today I am chosing a cover version of a song. It was written by The Knife, a Swedish electronic music duo which consisted of siblings Karin and Olof Dreijer. They formed in 1999 and disbanded in 2014. If you look up some of their music I’m willing to bet that you will find some that you really like!

The group toured little and gained stronger international recognition whenJosĆ© GonzĆ”lezcovered their song ā€œHeartbeatsā€ on his 2003 album,Veneer. The…

Jim prompts us with old/new/borrowed/blue. I’m going with old. Specifically Grandpa Tell Me ā€˜Bout The Good Old Days performed by the Judds. Writer: Jamie O’Hara. This song reminds me of my daddy. I’ve been very nostalgic lately. Hope you enjoy.

Grandpa, tell me ’bout the good old days
Sometimes it feels like this world’s gone crazy
And Grandpa, take me back to yesterday
When the line between right and wrong
Didn’t seem so hazy

Did lovers really fall in love to stay
And stand beside each other, come what may?
Was a promise really something people kept
Not just something they would say and then forget
Did families really bow their heads to pray
Did daddies really never go away?
Oh, Grandpa, tell me ’bout the good old days

Grandpa, everything is changing fast
We call it progress, but I just don’t know
And Grandpa, let’s wander back into the past
And paint me the picture of long ago

Did lovers really fall in love to stay
And stand beside each other, come what may?
Was a promise really something people kept
Not just something they would say and then forget
Did families really bow their heads to pray
Did daddies really never go away?
Oh, Grandpa, tell me ’bout the good old days
Oh, Grandpa, tell me ’bout the good old days

Sunday Reflections: A Week in Review ~ 6/6/21

I’m changing the featured image today. Though time still feels wonky … like a year goes by in a week … and I’m busy as all get out … I feel a bit less frenized. I’m back in therapy … where I should be the one getting paid (more about that in another post … maybe). Any way my llama has been replaced, even if just for today.

Now keeping it short and sweet, here is the reverse roll call …

  1. Saturday 6/5/21 – #SoCS – Yarn
  2. Friday 6/4/21 – Book Club
  3. Thursday 6/3/21 – Thursday Thoughts
  4. Wednesday 6/2/21 – #1linerWeds.
  5. Tuesday 6/1/21 – Share Your World
  6. Monday 5/31/21 – Haiku and Perspective
  7. Sunday 5/30/21 – #SLS

Now for a quick grocery run, then to catch up for reading blogs. Yesterday I took a me day where after my appointment, I read my libby library book and lounged and read some more. Then I binged the HBO-Max limited series Mare of Easttown. All 7 ish hours of it in one sitting. I might have to rewatch episode 7 since I may or may not have nodded off. Very good … if not excellent imo. Gritty and raw in the vein of Dennis Lehane’s Mystic River.

Peace y’all. Until next time. Stay safe.

As always, more to come.
