#SLS ~ 4/25/21

Jim prompts us with Arrivederci/Bon-voyage/Ciao/Farewell/Goodbye/Hasta la vista/Sayonara/Shalom. I picked a song that uses goodbye. A sarcastic nod … guess we’ll see in the end. Now I present, “How Far We’ve Come” by Matchbox 20, Songwriters: Kyle Cook / Paul Doucette / Rob Thomas / Robert Thomas / Brian Yale.

Hello
Hello
Hello

I’m waking up at the start of the end of the world,
But it’s feeling just like every other morning before,
Now I wonder what my life is gonna mean if it’s gone,

The cars are moving like a half a mile an hour
And I started staring at the passengers who’re waving goodbye
Can you tell me what was ever really special about me all this time?

I believe the world is burning to the ground
Oh well I guess we’re gonna find out
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Well I believe it all is coming to an end
Oh well, I guess, we’re gonna pretend,
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come

I think it turned ten o’clock but I don’t really know
And I can’t remember caring for an hour or so
Started crying and I couldn’t stop myself
I started running but there’s nowhere to run to
I sat down on the street took a look at myself
Said, “Where you going, man? You know the world is headed for hell.”
Say your goodbyes if you’ve got someone you can say goodbye to

I believe the world is burning to the ground
Oh well I guess we’re gonna find out
Let’s see how far we’ve come (right now)
Let’s see how far we’ve come

Well I, believe, it all, is coming to an end
Oh well, I guess, we’re gonna pretend,
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come

It’s gone, gone, baby, it’s all gone
There is no one on the corner and there’s no one at home
It was cool cool, it was just all cool
Now it’s over for me and it’s over for you
Well it’s gone, gone, baby, it’s all gone
There is no one on the corner and there’s no one at home
Well it was cool cool, it was just all cool
Now it’s over for me and it’s over for you

I believe the world is burning to the ground
Oh well I guess we’re gonna find out
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Well I, believe, it all, is coming to an end
Oh well, I guess, we’re gonna pretend,
Let’s see how far we’ve come (again)
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come

Sunday Reflections: A Week in Review ~ 4/25/21

No days off this week but a surprisingly fast week nonetheless. Whew! We had some continued rain that made me out of sorts. Yep I blame the rain on my moodiness. Plus now that we have three people using the internet to work from home, I get worried when the weather is iffy. Our ISP woes are in the back of Lulu’s mind too but she deals with the stress better. Her instructor lost connection during training on Thursday or Friday. Thank goodness she was spared. And relieved that the company will work with you too. The other company might have worked with her as well. We’ll never know. But we can’t go back, we can only go forward.

My concept of time is wiggy. I mean our problems were way before Snowmageddon which is over two months ago now. Where despite the worst winter weather in OUR history, we kept power and internet the entire time. No running water but “juice” aka power was plentiful. So when exactly did we have ISP woes? Was it really last August? Yep, full on and intermittent connectivity issues through December. Then Palomo entered the picture … our concierge. He fixed things so well so he wouldn’t have to come back. Win/win!!! Now I pray that I didn’t just jinx us.

Alrighty, out damn thought! Time for the roll call. Good times, I tell ya!!

The Usual Suspects …

#AtoZChallenge …

Peace y’all. Until next time. Stay safe.

As always, more to come.
