Jilly’s Take: Bite the bullet means to get through torture. Do something to ease the pain. Like in the Westerns when the cowboy takes a shot of whiskey while someone digs a bullet out of his leg.   1. I like how that goes along with your blog name …Grin and Bear It… when it’s too tough to grin through it, then we’ll “bite the bullet” so to speak.
