I had a reaction to the second Covid vaccine. Still glad we did it but oy vey. My weak one word one liner follows and is my question to our Governor.

WHY?

As always more to come.

  1. Yes, WHY? I can tell you why. It happened after Trump spoke at CPAC. Can someone shut him up? He just adds fuel to the fire!

I’m sorry you had a reaction to the second shot, but I’m hearing that a lot. No issues with the 1st and many symptoms after the 2nd. I don’t get the flu shot because of how sick it makes me. Scares me to get the covid shot, but scares me more to not get it. This isn’t the flu! I’m not eligible yet, but Florida is lowering the age so maybe by May, I will be. Frank is eligible but he is going to wait for me. πŸ™‚

    1. You’re right this isn’t the flu. The reactions vary quite a bit so hopefully yours and Frank’s will be mild or better yet none at all when the time comes. The good part is Tylenol and sleep did the trick.

      1. Good to know! I think I had covid last January before it was a thing. Until March, I thought it was the flu, but I totally lost my sense of smell and taste for 3 weeks even after the symptoms were gone, ran a high fever for 5 days straight (I never run a fever, ever) . Since then, we have become like Tony Shalhoub’s character on Monk or Bill Murray’s character in What About Bob. LOL! πŸ™‚

      2. Great! I always thought the behavior was quite eccentric, but as I’ve gotten older, my OCD (that I didn’t know I had) has come out. Covid has put it into a whole new category. I put my mail into quarantine for 2-3 days before opening it. Groceries get wiped down with an alcohol wipe if we need them right away. Ugh! πŸ™‚

  2. I can relate. Modera 1 had me down for 48 hours. Second down for 36 but the reaction was more intense. Significant fatigue and body aches, and zero appetite. All I ate Sunday was a bowl of oatmeal. Almost back to normal now. What a relief!

  3. Ugh. Glad you got the vaccine but sorry to hear about the reaction. My friends have had mixed response — some fly right through, others feel pretty bad after the second shot. I hope you’re feeling better soon!

  4. Bummer about the reaction but I’ve heard that the second dose is the one that usually does it. We had our second dose appointment cancelled because they ran out! I don’t understand that but now we have to wait unti they get more. Hopefully it won’t be so long that we’ll have to start all over again.

  5. It will be ok. We can still practice social distancing and frequently wash our hands. I’m personally glad the mask mandate has been lifted for my state, but don’t worry, most businesses and schools are going to keep it in place until the last possible minute! I’ve already been out today to test it. My bank is inside a school, so I had to go get my mask before they would conduct business with me. Big Lots was no problem. She said management would wait until the “official” date, but our local judge lifted the mask mandate yesterday, effective immediately. No one will believe it though and will continue to wear a mask. I see it as a personal choice now, so keep wearing one if that makes you somehow feel safe. I choose not to, but I don’t go many places anyway.
