#SLS ~ 1/10/21

Jim prompts us with MA (title of song must start with the letter M or A). I did a quick search and my 70s roots are showing. I picked “All Right Now” by Free, Writer(s): D J Rogers. Things might not really be all right now but hopefully this tune will be a diversion. Enjoy!!

There she stood in the street
Smilin’ from her head to her feet;

I said, “Hey, what is this?
Now maybe, baby,
Maybe she’s in need of a kiss.”

I said, “Hey, what’s your name?
Maybe we can see things the same.

“Now don’t you wait, or hesitate.
Let’s move before they raise the parking rate.”

All right now, baby, it’s a-all right now.
All right now, baby, it’s a-all right now.

(Let me tell you now)
I took her home to my place,
Watchin’ every move on her face;

She said, “Look, what’s your game?
Are you tryin’ to put me to shame?”

I said “Slow, don’t go so fast, don’t you think that love can last?”

She said, “Love, Lord above,
Now you’re tryin’ to trick me in love.”

All right now, baby, it’s a-all right now.
All right now, baby, it’s a-all right now

  1. Love this song. Used to skate to it at the skating rink. The link is broken on the YouTube video now. I had to go search for it on YouTube. Just wanted to let you know. πŸ™‚ Great song!

      1. Wow! Until 3 years ago, it had probably been about as long or longer. If I won the lottery, I’d build a roller skating rink and play the old music from back in the day. πŸ™‚

  2. Free wrote All Right Now so they could have an up tempo number, a rocker to close out their shows. Great 1970 song about a guy who picks up a girl on the street and takes her home for sex. Thanks for sharing this Jill.
