Happy Tuesday! Yesterday Melanie posed the following questions and today I’m answering. If you’d like to join in the Q&A, here are the rules and ping back.
QUESTIONS
- What news event do you vividly remember hearing about as a child, and where were you? I wasn’t the most observant child. I don’t remember paying attention to the news. I guess the first news event that struck me was when the Challenger exploded. I was watching on TV with a coworker in our break room and we couldn’t believe our eyes. Completely stunned. Such a sad tragedy.
- What is a Christmas song that makes you cringe? Hmm. Good question. I like most if not all. I’ll spin this, “Joy to the World” is my most favorite.
- What is one place you shop(ped prior to Covid) that might have surprised people? No surprises. My favorite shops are at the Alamo Quarry.
- What is your least favorite holiday side dish? Yams or sweet potatoes 🍠 bleh. Even marshmallows can’t make them better.
- Gratitude section. I’m above ground and breathing. That’s something. Not meaning to be flippant. It’s priceless actually. I realized the prompt was to tell of something heartwarming that recently happened. I’m verklempt over here and unable to write about it. But my heart is full.
More sweet potatoes for me! I love those things. I dislike the green bean casserole. My fav Xmas song is Oh Come All Ye Faithful.

Definitely all yours. We’ve never added green bean casserole to the rotation. I enjoy Oh Come All Ye Faithful too. It’s beautiful ☺️

Thanks Jilly so much for Sharing Your World! Your ‘gratitude’ thought was absolutely fine! I don’t think being verklempt is ungrateful at all. And you gave me a GREAT idea for an upcoming Word of the Day word too. I’m going to use that one and give you the credit. I’d never heard it before! ☺ Yams or sweet potatoes are yucky. They’re so sickly sweet and mushy that adding marshmallows (or pecans or both) to them only worsens the effect (IMHO). Bleah indeed! I enjoyed your flip of the Christmas song to one you really enjoy! That was great! Have a wonderful week!

Oh yay glad you’ve got a word of the day. I’m humbled yet wordless but eternally grateful. Wishing you a wonderful week too.

Not a fan of green bean casserole. Grandma got run over by a reindeer is not my favorite. I think my biggest news was Kennedy getting shot. I was in school and about 8 years old.

I’m with you on the green bean casserole it’s just never been part of our sides list. And yes I agree on Grandma got run over by a reindeer. Just awful. My cousin was born the day after Kennedy was shot. The family swears the shock was why my aunt went into labor.

As I wrote that it sounded ungrateful but it’s all I can muster.
