Curbside Shenanigans ~ 11/22/20

We actually wanted five single bananas but Lulu made the order for five bunches. 12.55 lbs later we have this …

At Walmart, you make the order for how many. At H.E.B you order by the bunches. There is a side note which says 5-7 bananas are usually in a bunch. You can also pick ripe, almost ready, and green. At least we asked for green .

On a side note we got two extra bags. Stuff we don’t normally use – ricotta cheese, neufchatel cheese, velveeta cheese, and string cheese. Do you see a pattern here. LOL. There was also whipped cream but the kind in the spray can … very fancy for us. A quart of half and half. Two cans of Pillsbury crescents. Finally some bacon. Someone is gonna upset when they unload.

I called H.E.B main office only number I could find. I chaired danced around, staying on hold while listening to swing trumpets muzak. I had hoped they’d charge me for the extra goodies. The clerk told me they are not allowed to charge me. They also cannot accept any items back. Instead he took a list of the items, called the actual store and warned them to be on the lookout for the person who was shorted. By my calling, it expedited the matter by immediately confirming the issue was legit. As luck would have it, we were all on the phone at the same time. Problem, solved except …

I worry for the girl who loaded our items. Was this her first mistake? Will they take the amount lost from her pay? Or maybe worse fire her? And I’m not sure why but I feel guilty!!!! Maybe because I have so much already and I am taking free food like the free government cheese which my mom did not want to take. Who knows? Off to google what to do with too many bananas.

Sunday Reflections ~ 11/22/20

Wowser! Time waits for no one as “they” whoever “they” are say. How the heck it is already 11/22/20??!?!

As I reflect back on last week, I’m also looking forward to a vacay. After tomorrow that is … I work Monday then off until 11/30/20!!! Woo to the Hoo!!!!!!!!!

#SLS ~ 11/15/20 – Sunday was musical bliss.  I went with the Piano Man aka Billy Joel.  Excellent song that’s hard to sing-along with though I always try anyways.  The wee hours of the morning sent us off the rails.  That may have been really 3 or 4 am Monday morning.  And I didn’t blog about what happened.  Shocker I know!  I’m known to being generally neurotic and releasing the hounds BUT and it’s a big BUT, I’m also very private.  Wait!  What?  I can hear the laughter from miles around.  I’m an open book, talker, over-sharer (yes that’s a thing), generally a blabber.  I can count on one hand the things I hold sacred and will not speak of.  Oh who am I kidding?  I’ll write about it one day … maybe.

Haiku – Ebb & Flow ~ 11/16/20 – Written after an extremely stressful morning while sitting on the side of the road (parked on purpose).  Those three lines brought me peace.  Y’all haiku is curative I swear.  Try it sometime.

Share Your World ~ 11/17/20 – Sharing my world is curative also.  Melanie always poses some interesting questions.  Buddy and Spot got a mention last week.  I have their picture as pups for my Zoom meeting profile.  We mostly use our cameras but before I turn the camera on, the dogs’ picture usually gets a mention.  I also get a private chat or two … are those your dogs????  And my answer is yes but that was 11 years ago.  They are ancient now.  I’ve been trying to get a picture of them now in the same pose as before but they are not having it.  Below is the best I got.  So, far … I’ll keep trying.

Whew! I’m tired. Still not quite done but getting there.

We didn’t have to worry about the Internet gods last Monday. Lulu’s clearance did not go through. They gave her the option to start the week late @ Thursday or Friday and try to catch up or to wait until 12/14/20 and start day one with the next class. She opted for 12/14/20. Ugh! Me? I would’ve started and tried to catch up. BUT and it’s another big BUT, this is NOT about me.
