#SLS for 8/23/20

On tap today Jim gives us Above/Below/Between. I chose “Just Between You & Me” performed by April Wine. This song was my first thought so I stayed with it. I’m an 80s baby with 70s roots. In 1981, “Just Between You & Me” was in the top 25. I was in high school at the time and several of us thought it was romantic and could only hoped to be serenaded with this song. Especially the French line toward the end. Ooh la la. ❀ Here is a short interesting wiki.

Time and time again I see
A love that seemed strong
Was not meant to be
Broken hearts don’t always mend
Left too unsure to try love again

But just between you and me
Baby I know our love will be
Just between you and me
Always I know our love will be
Just between you and me

Lovers often seem to say
Hearts can be blind to love gone astray
Always it’s the same old song
Someone’s been hurt by love that’s gone wrong

Just between you and me
Baby I know our love will be
Just between you and me
Always I know our love will be
Just between you
Just between you and me

Words are sometimes hard to find
The silence can be so unkind
You always help me find my way
The love that we share
Grows stronger each day

Just between you and me
Baby I know our love will be
Just between you and me
Always I know our love will be
Seulement entre toi et moi
Means that our love will always be
Just between you and me
Baby I know our love will be
Just between you
Just between you and me

    1. They were sort of a flash in the pan I think. I only know three of their songs – I Like to Rock, Sign of the Gypsy Queen, and this one. Since Just Between You and Me one got so much MTV air play in 1981 I remember it well.
