#SoCS for 6/13/20 ~ “nail”

Welcome back my friends!  What time is it?  Game time! Huh?  Had to be there. Inside joke. Ha!

If you’d like to join in these #SoCS shenanigans, here are the Rules and Ping Back.

The lovely Linda asks us if we’re doing okay?  Are we hanging in there?  She is very sweet to ask.  Hanging in there is about the current state for moi.  By a thread most days until #free48!!

Here what we’ve got to work with …

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “nail.” Use it as a noun or a verb. Have fun!

Nail as a verb … how saucy.  Mind outta the gutter.  Moving on.

If I had a hammer, I’d hammer in the morning.  I’d hammer in the evening.  All over this land.

Nope, not going the ear worm route.  Beside nail is not in that song.  Hammer is in that song. And since a hammer something one uses to pound a nail into whatever the nail needs to be pounded into, my mind went there.

What next?

How about the expression of “you hit the nail on the head”?  What about it?  Well it means you got that exactly right.  Carpentry is hard work y’all.  Has to be exactly right.  If you do not hit the nail on the head, it’ll go in sideways.  Make a mess of things.  I have neither the patience or the inclination to take up carpentry.  The closest I got was building a birdhouse for Girl Scouts.  Let’s say I didn’t nail it.  We used glue.  If memory serves.  Pre-cut pieces of wood too.

Any hoo, with that, my stream is caught up on the rocks.  Toodles until next time.  Hope y’all have the best weekend ever!!!!

  1. I’ve hammered my share of nails sideways. My husband uses glue or screws more than nails. Thanks for the earworm. Now, I’m wondering about that song and how would one hammer out the love between our brothers and our sisters, aaaaalll over this laaaaaand.

  2. In Girl Scouts, they didn’t trust us with tools so glue was the safe route. Not sure if it was to protect or protect them. 😂 I could go down another rabbit hole about being a girl and not capable of using a hammer….and in those days, you know that was the attitude. 😝
