Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “nail.” Use it as a noun or a verb. Have fun!
Nail as a verb … how saucy. Mind outta the gutter. Moving on.
If I had a hammer, I’d hammer in the morning. I’d hammer in the evening. All over this land.
Nope, not going the ear worm route. Beside nail is not in that song. Hammer is in that song. And since a hammer something one uses to pound a nail into whatever the nail needs to be pounded into, my mind went there.
What next?
How about the expression of “you hit the nail on the head”? What about it? Well it means you got that exactly right. Carpentry is hard work y’all. Has to be exactly right. If you do not hit the nail on the head, it’ll go in sideways. Make a mess of things. I have neither the patience or the inclination to take up carpentry. The closest I got was building a birdhouse for Girl Scouts. Let’s say I didn’t nail it. We used glue. If memory serves. Pre-cut pieces of wood too.
