Rules and Ping Back – thanks Melanie for hosting.
Questions:
How comfortable are you speaking in front of large groups of people?
I love to speak in front of a large audience. I don’t get to do that often enough any more but I used to facilitate training for entire departments. Good times I tell ya. As long as I am prepared, I’ll talk to anyone about anything.
What would be the best thing you could reasonably expect to find in a cave?
I’d have to go into a cave first and I’m a bit claustrophobic so no thanks …
What did you think was going to be amazing but turned out to be horrible?
I can’t think of anything.
What’s the silliest thing you’ve observed someone get upset about?
Speaking for myself I used get upset any time I had to wait. So silly. Now I take reading materials or other things along to use the time wisely. I actually jokingly call it forced recreation. Time away from the busy day to day.
Gratitude:
Please feel free to share something that gave you an uplifted spirit during this past week.
Today I am grateful for my family. They keep me sane. Most days anyway. LOL 🙂
I find the exact same thing in a cave. I’m claustrophobic too! 😝

It’s terrible and movies don’t help. Something bad always happens in a cave!

I don’t watch horror flicks anymore! I sleep much better…well…the ambien helps a lot too! 🙂

I had a script for Ambien that I never filled. Sometimes I think I should try it. I’m afraid I’ll drive in my sleep or worse. Doh! 😱

Well it doesn’t agree with everyone. I only take 1/2 a dose. 5mg. I’m regulated on it because my brain never turns off without it. If you decide to try it, I suggest you let hubby know so he can document how it affects you before and after you get to sleep. If I take it and don’t go to bed when it kicks in, I get loopy and eat a banana. I know…wild woman. 😂😂😂

Thanks J-Dub for Sharing Your World!! Claustrophobia is no joke. I don’t blame you a bit for avoiding cramped dark spaces like caves…. Like you, I’m fairly impatient (still am, but like you I take something to do ‘in case’). I’ve made some very sarcastic remarks to folks who make me wait. It’s very silly (in my case) behavior too, because where do I really have to be? Nowhere special…. I think patience is a skill that some folks have and others don’t. Like public speaking..I can’t do that at all..

You’re right it isn’t. People don’t always understand but fortunate spelunking is an optional activity. I’m better now with patience but it takes work. The distraction activities help.

I’m right there with you on the cave thing. I’ve been in a few (mostly since the kids because I was modeling “adventure!” and “discovery!”) and had to talk myself through them. Literally. Swore I’d never do that to myself again.

My worst field trip ever was to Natural Bridge Caverns. I couldn’t catch my breath. It was awful.

I’ve still got to think of something that I thought would be great but turned out horrible.

I usually think it’s going to be horrible. Worst case scenario is how my mind works. It’s a curse …
