Today Jim prompts us with Big/Large/Little/Small/Tall/Tiny. Boy that makes choosing difficult with all those options. Here I sit with analysis paralysis. At least listening through a selection has been mood lifting. Finally I went with “Long Tall Texan” written by Henry Strzelecki and first performed by The Four Flickers. We had this song on a 45. We’d each take turns picking the next song. My brother always picked this one.
I couldn’t find the Four Flickers version on You Tube so I picked the Kingsmen cover for the scratchy 45 sound. Without further ado; hope you enjoy
I’m a long tall Texan, I ride a big white horse
(He rides from Texas on a big white horse)
Well, I’m a long tall Texan, I ride a big white horse
(He rides from Texas on a big white horse)
Well, people look at me and say : ‘Oh Lord, oh Lord, is that your horse ?’
I’m a long tall Texan, I wear a ten-gallon hat
(He rides from Texas wearing a ten-gallon hat)
Well, I’m a long tall Texan, i wear a ten-gallon hat
(He rides from Texas wearing a ten-gallon hat)
Well, people look at me and say : ‘Oh Lord, oh Lord, is that your hat ?’
Oh, I’m a long tall Texan, I enforce justice for the law
(He rides from Texas to enforce the law)
Oh, I’m a long tall Texan, I enforce justice for the law
(He rides from Texas to enforce the law)
Well, people look at me and say : ‘Oh Lord, oh Lord, is you the law ?’
