“Curiosity killed the cat. Satisfaction brought it back”
I always understood this expression to mean something good. Curiosity is positive. We should all aspire to life long learning and be curious. In finding answers, we’d be satisfied by cracking the code. Solving a puzzle can be frustrating. Then eureka! Puzzle put together. Fulfilled!
The true meaning is not that positive though. Stay out of others affairs as meddling in someone else’s business can be dangerous hence the killing of the cat. “Nunya” or none of your business as we used to say teasing each other. Satisfaction bringing the cat back is simple a nod to the cat’s nine lives.
Right now we are together apart. Connected and disconnected. Social distancing. Why I never! Well you oughta! I could never have imagined anything like this COVID crap could happen to us. Maybe we should become nosy neighbors? You know, check in on each other every once and again to make sure we’re all doing okay.
