Our prompts today are Give/Get/Take/Receive/Send. I have Sirius XM through June 1 which gives me long forgotten about options. Since my audio book is done, I have tuned into Underground Garage most often. I’ve been contemplating my choices for over a week. I was all set to use Elvis’ “Return to Sender”. Even without the exact prompt words I felt it fit the theme.
But then today, apropos to the current state of affairs, this gem pops on as we make our way to the grocery store for our weekly purchase. We are not deviating from the norm though we’ll likely be affected by those who are going bonkers. Get a grip people! Oh yeah, I could’ve used that one too – Aerosmith’s “Get a Grip”. Anywho. This right here and songs in general make it all better even the tad bit wonky piano segment. lol.
Here are the lyrics:
Call out the instigator
Because there’s something in the air
We’ve got to get together sooner or later
Because the revolution’s here
And you know it’s right
And you know that it’s right
We have got to get it together
We have got to get it together, now
Run through the fields and houses
Because there’s something in the air
We’ve got to get together sooner or later
Because the revolution’s here
And you know it’s right
And you know that it’s right
We have got to get it together
We have got to get it together, now
Call out the instigator
Because there’s something in the air
We’ve got to get together sooner or later
Because the revolution’s here
And you know it’s right
And you know that it’s right
We have got to get it together
We have got to get it together, now
Recorded by Thunderclap Newman, written by Speedy Keen. More details at the wiki
P.S. I also have my plan B, now renamed Plan C that I will post tonight if I don’t see it played by someone else.
As always, more to come.
The first time I ever heard this song was Tom Petty’s cover version. I heard the original sometime after that. Great choice!

I was torn between Tom’s cover and the original. I enjoy them both.

This song was used in the movie “The Magic Christian,” at the climax of the movie, toward the end. It’s a little gross, but if you’re interested… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Xg2v_T2XH8

Oh very cool song I haven’t thought of in years. Recognized it from the first notes ( not the title or band)
thanks for reminding me of it and the fun video. 🙂

I was the same way when I heard it, the band name escaped me but those notes are definitely recognizable

This song brought my hubby in here singing the lyrics. Great choice today Jill! He left the room and he is still singing it loudly as he walks in the other room.

Jill are you indicating that the coronavirus is in the air? Great song, it has been way too long since I last listened to this. Thanks for sharing your music again.
