02/14/2020 – J-Dub's Grin and Bear It

I almost wrote 2019 again as I entered the title and included the date. Ugh! February is about 1/2 over. I should be used to 2020 by now. Time is flying by and I am winging it by the seat of my pants. Oh the joy! Seriously Meredith Grey. My heart is happy. The extra day this month, is icing on the cake for all you folks born on 2/29.

Today I was thinking about Valentine’s days past. B and I no longer celebrate but once upon a time we did exchange gifts. The first Valentine’s Day gift he ever gave me was a stuffed lion that when you shook him, his mane puffed out. He also have me a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup since it was and still is my all time favorite candy.

The following year he gave me a floating heart necklace. I am not much of a jewelry person. But since it was from him, I loved it. Weeks later it came out that his mom bought the necklace for him to give to me. Being the irrational impulsive brat that I was, I threw the necklace away. I told him I’d rather have a rock from him than a diamond from his mother. After that, we never exchanged Valentine’s Days gifts again.

I wish I had not done that. I could have gifted the necklace to Lulu. Something from her g-ma. Now that would’ve been special.

Any hoo, that’s all I got for today. I am more than ready to start #free48. Time to get this party started. And by party I mean watching recorded TV shows from the DVR and eating pizza. Now that’s the stuff.
