Oh M Goodness There Are Two Of Us

I am slowly putting things back as they were as I set up the new desktop.  I tried to play ELP from Dan’s post but no sound!  Sacribleu.  The kidlet is gone, so who do I ask?  B?  Surely not.  Though he is a handy dandy fellow aka DIY champ PCs are not his thang.  And I do mean thang not thing.  LOL.

I try to diagnose the lack of sound issue myself.  Run several checks with no problems found as the outcome.  I get a number to call and my friendly (who shall remain nameless) help desk assistant does some troubleshooting.  Then he proceeds to tell me my PC does not have an internal speaker.  He creates a case and tells me I can send the PC back and a speaker will be installed free of charge.  WTH!!! But okay.  I guess.

Meanwhile B calls Pony who tells dear ole dad, of course there is no internal speaker.  My speakers are on my monitor!  Sweet heart that he is, he offered to come back before B told him we’d figure it out.

Razzle frazzle – the green wire was plugged into the tower only.  B griping, that wire is too short to reach as I kneel under the desk and push up the wire between the back of the desk and wall for him to grab said wire and put into the monitor.  Whew!  Quite the feat.  But all is well now as ELP is blasting!  Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends. We’re so glad you could attend come inside come inside.

Oh and BTW the help desk assistant called me back to sadly explain that the charge to install internal speakers would be $150 to $200 and not the free of charge I was quoted.  No mention that using external speakers is preferred.  He suggested I take back the PC for a different one.  Or he could still end me the box for return to which I politely replied “no thank you”.  I think he should’ve known better don’t you?  Oh M Goodness, there are two of us 🙂

As always, more to come.

Falling Apart While Keeping It Together

Ha! What an oxymoron.

Tis’ true though.

Things are a jumbled mess but good but not but oh well.

This morning I got my oil changed and my tires rotated.  I also quickly spent the last of my b-day cash on three shirts and jeggings while waiting on the vehicle.  Time will spent keeping it together.

Then I drive back home to get my guys so we can replace the desktop.  The first Best Buy was out of stock despite what was online so we moved along to a different Best Buy on the other side of town.  In and out.

Before coming back here, Pony who was driving decided to make a quick stop at Game Stop.  He used to work at this particular store but that’s not why he stopped.  Nope, he “needed” a game.

I decided to walk laps while waiting and Mr. B, well he sat in the truck.  As I am looping around, up and down, all ambling the sidewalk, I spy a mom and her son headed for the Game Stop.  We almost collided and said some quick pardon  me’s.   I took one more lap before going in to check the status of Pony.  He was about three back in line at checkout.

The mom and son were looking at the games on the wall.  Talking about which one.  Happy.  You could feel their energy.  And me?  Well I had to leave.

Outside I started crying.  You see not all that long ago, I was that mom and the son was my Pony.  I know they have to grow up but damn.  I miss my sweet little boy.  When we got back in the vehicle the convo went something like this …

B: what’s wrong?

Me: Nothing.

Pony: No idea (looking at B)

B: Something

Me: Nothing

B: Why are you crying?

So I tell them.  Because you know.  Gotta get it out of my system.  I am an emotional mess.  They both know this.

Me: Don’t look at me

Then we grabbed lunch.  Came back here. Unpacked my new desktop. Pony took off for greener pastures.  Boo hoo.

Nice to be all set up again.  The phone and iPad were getting harder to handle.  Guess I’m old school.  I have the same old monitor which is fine.  New mouse though and new keyboard which came with the tower.  Sweet since who doesn’t love a new mouse??  Plus my old keyboard had letters missing that were worn clean off from typing all my diatribes.

Whew I need a nap.

As always, more to come.

#SoCS & #JusJoJan 01/18/20

Dearly beloved. We are gathered here today to join #JusJoJan and #SoCS in holy prompts matrimony. ❤️

If you’d like to attend the ceremonies read below then come back up to follow this link.

Yes, I am repeating last week’s #SoCS & #JusJoJan opening.  And you might just see the same next Saturday too.  Wait! Why?  What?  No originality??

Yep, just like Hollywood.   Recycled crap.  At least that’s what B says.  Which leads me to today’s prompt.  Linda writes and I repeat:

Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “movie title.” Take the title of the last movie you watched (just the title, not the premise of the movie), and base your post on that title. Have fun!

I watch all kinds of stuff but no movies per se if you mean “seen in the movie theater” movies.  And lately on TV, it’s sitcoms or one hour dramas that we watch.  My attention span is that of a gnat and B … well B can’t sit still.

Now that my preamble is done.  We did go to Jumanji: The Next Level over the holidays.  All four of us.  Just like the old days.  Very nice.  The movie was good too which is bonus.  We don’t hang out together often so when we do the time spent together is precious.  They grow up so fast.  Cue music.  Fiddler On The Roof / Sunrise/Sunset.

As always, more to come.
