Dearly beloved. We are gathered here today to join #JusJoJan and #SoCS in holy prompts matrimony. ❤️
If you like to attend the ceremonies read below then come back up to follow this link.
Linda writes and I repeat:
Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “the first 3 words of the first full sentence.” Okay, follow me here. This is what I want you to do: 1. Grab the closest book to you when you sit down to write your post. 2. Open it to a random page. 3. Locate the first complete sentence on that page. 4. Use the first three words of that sentence to start your post, then take it from there–write whatever comes to mind. That’s it! Have fun!
A moment of silence before I begin. Rest In Peace Neil Peart. The heavens are reveling in your solos. \m/ 💔 ✌️
Well alrighty then. My nearest book is “Ordinary Hazards” by Nikki Grimes. This is a memoir written in a style actual pages from her notebooks/journal. Writing is what saved her. She called it a magic trick she didn’t quite understand at the tender age of six. It’s like me releasing the hounds. Aaaahhh. I’m going to quote the hell out of this book when the time comes to review. I might even buy a copy as that’s how good it is. But for today I’ll move along.
Eyes closed (why that’s not what Linda said), open book (check) find a page (check)
<figuratively insert Jeopardy! Theme song>
Then what? Uh oh ya open eyes to read the first three words of the first full sentence:
What the hell …
Ha! I can work with that. Maybe. It’s kinda like my now defunct “what fresh hell is this” blog category that promptly went bust. As soon as I crafted the name, the source material dried up. That always happens. I think there’s even a name for it. Not deja vu but almost like it. Coincidence maybe? Gerunds maybe? Lol no I just learned that’s turning nouns into verbs. It‘s like when you read something then all of a sudden you see new examples of the same all over the place. The opposite of that…
What the hell! Is she talking about. And the she is me. Jilly and I’m outta stream. Seriously? That’s all you got? What the hell? Yes seriously Meredith Grey.
Happy Saturday. The last Saturday of Lulu’s break before she heads back for her final semester away. We’re going to try and make it a good one.
What the hell! Try? There is no trying in baseball. Or is that crying? Could be some crying but only by me next Friday AFTER she leaves. Anyways today will be awesome 😎 Self-fulfilling prophesy.
As always more to come.
