#SoCS for 10/26/19 ~ “dress”

Woo to the hoo!  New badge alert.  Congrats Shelley!!  I will wear this badge weekly with pride :).

Here is what’s on tap per the lovely Linda, host with the most:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “dress.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

Free for all alert … not too many rules or incentives like bonus points.  Simply “dress” any way you like it.  Or not!  That was my first thought.  Ha!  dressing is overrated.  I mean c’mon who cares if one has the latest fashion.  Sickening to me what people pay for certain designer duds.  I could help so many people with that amount of cash.  A better use too.  My opinion.  No need for the peanut gallery to explain to me why I am wrong to be so judging/preachy.   My left leaning bleeding heart is showing.

Moving along because I was getting too heavy.  Truth! I need to get to a gym.  Or sleep again.  Or eat right.  Or live with what the good lord gave me.  Acceptance and all that jazz.

What I really thought about first was “Puttin’ on the Ritz”  … “The Young Frankenstein” cover.   Gene Wilder and Peter Boyle were hilarious.  Not just in this movie either.  Classic gentlemen.  Dapper Dan’s.  Dressed for Success!!

I know the song is ancient and has a history.  In the 40s, a second version was released where Irvin Berlin changed some of his lyrics to avoid offending anyone.  All very interesting but I am running outta stream.  Not sure which end is up and/or where to begin.  So much to do, so little time. Wait! Reverse it.

Oh my today is a Gene Wilder love fest.  “What knockers!” “Why thank you!” Happy Saturday.

If you’d like to join in with the merry band of prompt respondents, here are rules and ping back.

  1. LOL – I love those clips of Gene too and the quotes about knockers. I was on my first date with a boy in junior high school and we went to Young Frankenstein. I blushed at the knockers’ joke. Your take on the prompt is great – way to dress things up! (PS – thanks for the badge compliments, I’m blushing again!)!

  2. Interesting that you mention Gene Wilder and Young Frankenstein. I just saw an interview that Teri Garr did where she says that he was a real jerk to work with. She has Multiple Sclerosis and is in a wheelchair now. The interviewer was asking her about the different men she had acted with and the first one was him. “Just a jerk in general.” LOL

  3. I’d never seen the movie Young Frankenstein and that was really funny to see. Mostly because of Peter Boyle – can’t stop thinking of him as Frank on Everybody Loves Raymond! 🙂

  4. I do hate dressing when it comes to trends. I don’t do trends. I tend to wear the same types of things over and over. Dressing up is fun sometimes, though. Love a top hat and tails for the guys, too.

  5. Actually, I voted for Fandango’s suggestion, for probably the wrong reason, but that is a lovely new badge. Now we just need to make sure our responses just as good 🙂 At least you’ve made a good start!
