So, … I Learned Something New

Thanks to Dan over at No Facilities I became aware that WP has such a thing as a spam folder for comments.  Maybe I already knew but I forgot.  As I forget easily these days.  Spam comments can affect your stats. Means I learned something new.  I will eventually figure out how 49% lower = 33% reduction.  Ah all math is funny math.  🙂

The only stat I follow is my consecutive days streak notification – today makes 313 days of posts in a row.  Otherwise stats don’t mean much to me since I am not a monetized blog.  I only come here to read the articles.  Wink wink.  Actually the pictures are pretty good too.  No one will likely get my veiled reference.  But I am giggling all the same.

Anyway, marching on … I looked right now finding 101 spam tagged comments from the last few days.  Some of them came from fine folks I know.  I will slowly approve those as I wade through the list.  The remainder came from ads – need a new phone, wireless ear buds, air fryers or electric tooth brushes.  Apparently someone out there thinks I NEED these things.

Wonder what else I am missing?  Might be time to spruce up the place again.  Comb through my WP functionality.  Summertime fun time!!

#SoCS for 6/22/19 ~ “Leaves”

Good morning Bloglandia!  Time once again for  #SoCS where the lovely Linda G Hill provides a place for us to roll with the proverbial flow.  Today she says and I quote:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “leaves.” Use it as a noun or a verb. Have fun!

Hmmm!  Leaves … noun or verb

“All the leaves are brown (All the leaves are brown) and the sky is grey …”

Nope, not right now.  In fact all the leaves are a vivid green.  Lush even.  Tis the 2nd day of summer.  Not winter.  And the sky? Well the sky is the bluest of blues filled with pillowy white clouds.  At least here in the great state of Texas, city of China Grove, at this very moment.

“Stopped into a church …”  Ugh not a “California Dreamin” ear worm.  Get out damn lyric!

Look at me all Lady Macbeth on this fine Saturday morn.

“Everybody leaves me”  That line was Andy’s from the movie “Child’s Play”. The movie was re-released, remade, rebooted, who knows why?  Lack of originality maybe?  Still Lulu and I saw the movie yesterday on my day off.

I tell ya folks, for the times they are a changin’.  (not another ear worm, stop Bob Dylan!) The movie was filled with gratuitous violence. As a kid I loved horror movies but if memory serves we had only the hint of the gore, fake and very cheesy unlike yesterday where the scenes were life like.

But I am probably having one of those false positive memories – revisionist history – there is a term for it which escapes me but I do it all the time.  I remember things better than they actually were.  Though during the moment I make stuff up. 

Case in point: Recent health issue leaves me with a sick sense of waiting for the other shoe to drop.  Despite having test results which confirm I am essentially normal.  What a weirdo!

Now that’s not nice to call myself names.  Guess I will get ready for “The Play That Goes The Wrong Way”  last of the series for the 2018-2019 season.  After “Hamilton” I am out with a whimper.  Though I could be surprised since I have heard some good things about this play.
