This was written on May 31, 2012 right before Lulu’s 8th grade graduation. Yes some schools graduate from 8th to high school. Might be a regional thing or a parochial thing.
Lulu was looking through my limited jewelry stash for something to wear the graduation. I have a few nice pieces, inherited … that I am saving … for what I don’t know … because I rarely wear jewelry. Maybe giving it all to her now should be my gift??
Anyway… she found some guitar earrings and calls out “really mom … what gaudy earrings?”
My reply “it was the 80s”
When I went into my room to really look, I laughed …
“those were your daddy’s” B aka Bon Jovi Dub with a silver guitar flying v earring.

I graduated 8th grade too. Catholic school. Such a change to go to a public high school. LOL dad’s earring!

I graduated kindergarten and 8th grade. My mom joked about my achievements. No earrings. No jewelry. But it was the whole cap and gown thing.
