RIP Uncle Bubbie

B’s great uncle Noah aka Noahie aka Bubie passed away last night at the tender age of 98. He was the patriarch of the Simpson-Burns clan. Now it feels like our glue is missing. We can’t be sad for him because he’s no longer suffering. But for us? Well for us it hasn’t really sunken in … yet.

PoPo would visit Uncle Bubie weekly. He helped with his finances. But mostly they’d just talk. His mom’s older brother. More like a dad to him in some respects. This is gonna hurt 😔

May the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God Rest In Peace.

This was written on May 31, 2012 right before Lulu’s 8th grade graduation.  Yes some schools graduate from 8th to high school.  Might be a regional thing or a parochial thing.

Lulu was looking through my limited jewelry stash for something to wear the graduation. I have a few nice pieces, inherited … that I am saving … for what I don’t know … because I rarely wear jewelry. Maybe giving it all to her now should be my gift??

Anyway… she found some guitar earrings and calls out “really mom … what gaudy earrings?”

My reply “it was the 80s”

When I went into my room to really look, I laughed …

“those were your daddy’s” B aka Bon Jovi Dub with a silver guitar flying v earring.
