#SoCS for 5/11/19 ~ strain

How does a bastard, orphan son of a whore
And a Scotsman, dropped in the middle of a forgotten spot in the Caribbean
By providence, impoverished, in squalor, grow up to be a hero and a scholar?

Alexander Hamilton from the musical Hamilton

Oh, hello there.

I started streaming before I even read the prompt.

You see today is the day folks.  I am going to Hamilton!!!

But now is time for #SoCS and Linda gives this the following:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “strain.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

Hmm

Strain

think, think and think

Rise up
When you’re living on your knees, you rise up
Tell your brother that he’s gotta rise up
Tell your sister that she’s gotta rise up

My Shot from the musical Hamilton

Oh who am I kidding??!  I am single minded and won’t be able to write a flipping thing until AFTER the show.  I got nothing going for strain except to recognize the strain at that time and how history has a way of repeating itself.

If you’d like to join this band of prompt respondents, look here for the rules and ping back.

  1. I love your excitement, Jill. I don’t know how you can bear the strain of anticipation!
And now “Anticipation” is stuck in my head. Which is followed by a craving for French fries…
    Have a wonderful time! Hugs.
