Is It Me or Is It Me?

You’ve heard the expression it’s not you, it’s me … ya know the tired break up excuse.

I want to yell liar.  Why doesn’t the person admit true feelings?  Of course it’s me.  Something about me that bugs you.  Am I right?

Sugar coating never helps anybody.  Better to zip your lip than placate people, in my opinion of course.  You go get yours. Opinion that is.

And why so terse Jilly.  Why is there a “bee in your bonnet”? I mean you’ve got nothing … to complain about.

Seriously?  Yes seriously Meredith Grey!

What a difference a day makes folks.  The weather is fan-freaking-tastic.  “Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind, It’s gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright) Sun-Shiny day”. ~ Thank you Johnny Nash

I am here all alone and making stuff up.  #MSU.  Projecting helpless feelings. Instead I should just crank up the music.  No one would care.  No one is around to care.  I can get back into the zone and get some work done.  Because it is not about me.  Never was.  I am not the sun and the moon is not me.  Yep, you got that expression wrong.  To google or not to google that is the question.  Naw!  no more wasting my time on this beautiful day.

Happy Thursday bloglandia.  Hope it’s a good one.

As always, more to come.

  1. Excellent choice in song to elevate mood 🙂
It’s really us, not them. In reality, they’re perfect for someone, something else, but we aren’t willing to negotiate what doesn’t feel perfect for us. If I ever break up with you it’s because I love Nirvana, not because you don’t 😉

  2. Of course, it is me! But then it is also you. I could be more to your taste. You could have taste that is compatible with me. (Nudists are extremely aware of this.) Trying to place fault is a fool’s errand. Everyone has a different taste. It just is.

Catching up on your posts again. You are so prolific!

I write few posts but they tend to be long with lots of illustrations. I am told that blog posts should never exceed a couple hundred words. My illustrations are not always everyone’s taste. Too bad. I’m just being “authentic” me.

Tomorrow I’m doing the Naked Beer Mile out here. Five beers over a one mile course. Wish me luck (in that I finish upright and not lose everything)!

When I saw this quote as a lonely teenager back in the 60s, I thought it was extremely valuable in living an authentic life. (Authentic is my new buzz word.) I still think so.

“I do my thing and you do your thing.
I am not in this world to live up to your expectations,
And you are not in this world to live up to mine.
You are you, and I am I, and if by chance we find each other, it’s beautiful.
If not, it can’t be helped.”
