  4. iPad – 6th Generation
  5. Apple Watch
  6. Dyson Fan – cool and warm (hopefully of the non-cancer causing variety)

There was more to choose from in the catalog but this is my narrowed down list.  I had an employee once who went out to various online sites pricing every gift option available.  He proceeded to pick the most expensive one which he didn’t even like but he was not going to be “cheated”.  His mom received a very nice curio cabinet that year.  LOL.

I did not include any jewelry.  I already have a ring from year 10 and two watches from years 15 and 30.  We are okay on the luggage front and we do not travel much anyways.  I need a vacuum cleaner but help me I cannot go there … not a wedding anniversary but an anniversary just the same.  I do enjoy cookware and nice dishes and I am too cheap to buy them. Hmmm.  Perhaps I should expand my list.

So, … I’m Already Neurotic and Now I Wasted My Lunch Hour on Funny Math

Okay peeps.  Time to purge thoughts from my head to the page. Aaaahhhhh!

During the winter, we keep our thermostat at 65 degrees F.  I mean c’mon in the blazing summer, we’d kill for those temps.  65 degrees is pleasant WHEN IT IS HOT OUTSIDE!!

The caveat is in all caps for a reason.  It is NOT hot outside right now.  But I go along with the thermostat setting to save money because well ya know, I am the other F word – frugal!  I supplement with a small electric heater that I called Toasty.

Toasty passed away.  RIP my warm one.

Ya see, I thought I could lay a damp article of clothing on Toasty to dry it and snap, crackle, pop that was a bad idea.  Thank goodness there was no flame just what appeared to be a fuse going out.  B was so upset …  Jill that’s common sense to keep things off the grate.  You’re lucky.  Uh duh!  Ya think?

Then he tried to fix Toasty but it was more than the fuse.  Considering the age of Toasty, a final resting place in the landfill was the only option.  I didn’t think about replacing her until the weather turned cold again today.

@ 1 pm, I took my lunch break and went out with a mission to get a new electric heater.  I had one in my hot little hand and then I read: For California residents, may cause cancer and birth defects and other reproductive issues.  Wait! Wha?  Shut the front door.

Can I ignore this warning because I live in Texas? Nope.

Can I ignore this warning because I am no longer of child bearing age? Nope.

Do the manufacturers add warning like this to make neurotics like me more neurotic?  Likely!

I mean really.  I get the need to warn us … product liability is a thing but c’mon.

Back up on the shelf went my toasty junior.  Instead I came home and whipped up a batch of brownies.  The oven will give extra heat!  And I kept my coat on.  Only one more hour of work until #Free48.  Woo to the hoo!!!

As always, more to come.

TGIF 2/8/19

I’m working from home because I’m a wimp now that our parking garage is temporarily closed and I have to walk to the building in this weather 🥶. The rain never came but it’s cold again. Won’t get out of the 30s if you believe Siri. That’s what she told me when I asked her.

I said “should I go to work Siri?” She replied “I don’t know what to say.” Ha! Guess we’ve got a ways to go on the AI front. Or I need to rephrase my question. Communication … now that’s a tough nut 🥜 to crack.

AI? Well that’s fascinating but alas my day job beckons. Wishing everyone a zen filled Friday.

As always more to come.

So, … Funny Math of the Ice House Variety

Yes I call them ice houses.  You call them convenience stores.  To-mA-to … to-mah-toe.  They still sell ice don’t they??!?!  Oh and tossing the gauntlet of pretend poker,  I’ll see your Wawa and I’ll raise you a QT!  LOL

This is what counts for entertainment when you live in the sticks!!  We have been watching the construction for months … dare I say a year.  Finally Saturday was the grand opening of the newest QT!

Pony told us about the FREE 24 oz tumblers – Tervis … to keep the hot stuff warm and the cold stuff cool.  One day only!!!  Sure enough, we each got one.  And the first drink was on the house.  I made the loop around the store before deciding.  I wanted the frozen hot chocolate or a Dr. Pepper freezoni but then I saw mango tea in a shimmering light.  And the seas of the peoples parted as I made my way to the spout! Aahhhh!!! Refreshing!!

All free!!! Somebody pinch me I must be dreaming :).  With a carry away cup for discounted refills!!!

Next time and believe me there WILL be a next time, I’m gonna get soft serve!! I’m fairly certain that the 49 cent cones will be back up to normal price but I have a hard time believing these creamy elixirs of life will be more than $3 which is what I pay at SIP or Mr. Softee.

That’s the funny math part … $0.49 to $3.00, what a racket! SIP and Mr. Softee you have been soft served!  Get it?  Hahahahahaha … I slay me.

As always, more to come.
