Here we go, here we go now! #SoCS in da house and in da hood. Linda drops us the beat:
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “mean(s).” Use it with or without the “s,” any way you’d like. Have fun!
Hmmm??? Mean(s) could be anything.
Here we go, here we go now! Think, think, and think!
Mean Girls movie. Ugh! No. Move outta my consciousness Tina Fey and take your girls with ya. They don’t deserve air time.
Say what you mean and mean what you say or some such expression enters my consciousness next. Ugh! No. Not feeling Alice like today y’all. And I almost mistook Lewis Carroll for Dr. Seuss. Sacribleu! and/or Doh!
The Grinch movie is out again. How many times can one remake that sad tired cliché? I mean c’mon! Enough already.
Oops, did I let my thought bubble escape. Uh ya you did!
When I was a kid, CBS aired “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” every holiday. I watched it with my brothers, but it scared me until I was old enough not to be scared. I always felt so bad for Max. Do you remember Max? He was the Grinch’s dog.
I get the message about commercialism and excess and all that but still. I mean c’mon. Things haven’t really changed. We have Hallo-giving-mas all rolled into one. Ba-hum-bug!!
Is my Grinch showing? Ebenezer give me some figgy pudding Randal Pink Floyd. Ugh! No. Even though “Dazed and Confused” is an awesome movie and you resemble that remark Jilly beans.
I am not responsible for this stream and I do not approve of the content of this message. My mind has a mind of its’ own. Do you know what I mean?
I leave you with this song which was my first thought bubble that I eschewed for the blathering above. Without further ado, here is “Mean Street” by Van Halen. Rock on with your bad selves.
Writer(s): MICHAEL ANTHONY, ALEX VAN HALEN, DAVID LEE ROTH, EDDIE VAN HALEN

As always, more to come.
I always feel TERRIBLE for Max, even now, even as a fully grown grown-up it breaks my heart to see poor Max take that abuse. Honestly? I kinda avoid the movie for that very reason…

Definitely not on our watch list. Much better options.

Seems there should be a longer space between holidays so we could enjoy each one separately.
Dazed & Confused is one of our favorite movies. Lots of good quotes from that one! 😉

I like Hallo-giving-mas. Haven’t heard that one before. I didn’t like the Grinch much either. (Truth be told, Seuss wasn’t one of my favorites to read to the kids for some reason.) The Grinch was mean.

Yes the Grinch was mean. To me, Seuss is an acquired taste. Today I enjoy the occasional Seussism but the books were not my favorite either. My favorite would have been Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew 😁

Yes!! We think alike 🙂 I am wondering if it was the gobbledegook way he talked. I was never a fan of “baby” talk and never spoke that way to my kids.

Us too. No baby talk.

I hope no one ever makes a Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer movie. You can never ever ever replace Burl Ives, Yukon Jack and a male deer who exclaims, “I’m cute! I’m cute! She thinks I’m cuuuuuuute!!!”

They’ve tried. I’ll have to find my FB post from a few years back. A made for TV remake. 😔

I missed that. Perhaps I saw it advertised and erased it from my memory.

The only Grinch worth watching is the first one (TV with Boris Karloff) after that, pfffffft.

Hollywood has decided to keep feeding us the same crap, because they know that no mater how many times they do it, there will still be people dumb enough to want to see it. We stopped going to the movies ten years ago and I haven’t missed it.

“matter.” Duh.

No originality as B would say. We rarely go to the movies ourselves.
