A Picture is Worth 1000 Words

These are the supervisors of Western Electric circa 1970 something.  My devilishly handsome father-in-law is pictured in the center.  The only female (God bless her heart) is top row right. I circled them in blue, just because.  Not suggesting anything.

Or maybe I am? What really floors me is that this picture was taken in our recent history.  Says everything without speaking at all.  And you’re thinking land the plane Jilly.  Just what are you insinuating?  Well nothing really.  You be your own judge.

As always more to come.

I was searching for my common place book to snag a one liner.  I could not find it readily but alas I remembered I organized.  Sure enough my little book of love notes was right where it should be.  But then I went rogue and decided to share the wolf pack analogy instead.  Why?  Because this meme from FB really struck a chord with me yesterday.

Cool right?? To paraphrase, the leader leaves no one behind.  I am one of the three old fogies at the start of the pack – old and infirmed.  I read some comments that this is a myth and wolf packs do not behave in the manner pictured.  Too bad because it makes for a heartwarming message about leadership in a dog-eat-dog world.

This week has been one for the memory books and not in a good way.  But oh well hell.  Whatcha gonna do.  Persist.  Onward and upward!!

Happy Wednesday to you and yours 🙂

As always, more to come.

Paper, Paper, Get Your Paper Here

What am I hocking?  Am I trying to sell something to get out of debt?  Hmmmm.  Nope!

I  have been honored to be selected for a guest spot on the Blogging from A to Z challenge blog.  The theme is open and I’ve been kicking around some ideas.  I can add my post any time between Nov 1 and Nov 15.  But truth be told, I am scared.  I mean c’mon, who wants to read my dribble?  My blog is filled with whiner complainer release the hounds diatribes.  Snooze fest and/or irritating you be the judge.

If only …

Think, think and think

What would people enjoy reading about?

The entries are strong out of the gate.  Debbie has a FEEL GOOD list.  Check out her guest post and Check out her site.

I am not creative and positive enough to have a FEEL GOOD list.  A worry list though; that I could manage.  And it doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom.  Sometimes writing out your worries helps frame them so you can attack and conquer them.  Writing is a coping mechanism that I have used my entire life.  Odd and dramatic to say this but writing may have even saved my life.

Any who, between now and 10/31, drop me some comments with any suggestions you might have on content for a guest spot.  I’d appreciate the help so I don’t look lame.  And next year, remind me that I prefer under the radar and off the grid.

As always, more to come.

He obviously had something wrong with him. You could tell by the tone of his voice. Well not tone exactly. His tone was genuine, excitedly friendly. But his speech pattern seemed to indicate impairment.

Before we get started, are you okay?

Yes. She was fine. A mess but fine. He slowly went through the steps. Asking questions and filling in blanks. She felt bad for him but then glad someone took a chance to hire him. Then she felt sorry for him. And thought

Only a mother could love

Boom the guilt covered her like fallout. Who was she to judge? Then she realized he reminded her of her brother. Long gone and eternally present.

As always more to come.

I am asking for a friend. B will be so livid if he finds out I am doing this. But since he doesn’t do a single thing on social media I think I’ll get away with it scot-free. I’m airing dirty laundry and he’s not a big fan of that even though this particular pile of clothes is not related to us. Truly asking for a friend. wink wink 😉

Asking what you say? Well if you had a disabled relative accused of breaking a windshield for a second time would you pay for it with or without asking for a receipt? You see my friend thought she was so clever last time to ask for a picture. Her more intelligent better half quipped “that could be a picture of anyone’s car”. She paid through money order and never got a receipt.

Truth is stranger than fiction and all that but somehow deep down she feels she is being played. I mean this is a person who can barely walk. How’s he supposed to have the strength to shatter a windshield? Though he was off his meds. Two weeks without his shot. And supposedly just snapped.

Lots of other things have happened prior to this. Accusations have been lodged. Quite frankly I think my friend would rather remain in denial. Pay it to make it go away.

All advice is welcome.
