Good morning bloglandia. Rise and shine!! Time once again for #SoCS. Our hostess with the mostest aka the lovely Linda gave us the following prompt:
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “precious.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!
Without skipping a beat. Boom! Gollum of JRR Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
I have not read any of the books and have not seen any of the movies but I’d have to be living under a freakin rock to never have heard about Gollum and the ring he calls precious. The above clip freaks me out. What a nasty little troll. No wait he’s a hobbit.
Any who, that’s all she wrote. My stream is caught up on the rocks. But I still have more to say. I know it! Think, think and think.
What about precious metals? A co-worker had part of her investments in precious metals but at the advice of a financial planner, she moved her stuff. She continued to “do the math” which is my running theme of late and had she left her investment alone, she may have very well retired early. The stock market is risky and being conservative (in my investment appetite that is), I would never have invested in precious metals to start. So I am still winning!!
Dang it! My stream is drying up again. Oh well, I’ve got places to go and people to see. Me and the kiddo are headed out and about. Then tonight is the Light the Night walk. Sure hoping that the weather cooperates.
If you’d like to join this merry band of prompt respondents, look here for the Rules and Ping Back.
As always, more to come.
Bloglandia, ha ha..!

I love the Lord of the Rings books and movies even more. Very heroic. But when the Gollum parts come on, I go move the laundry or let the dogs out or something.

You’re right, we’re definitely on the same wavelength. I’ve never actually read the books either but woo, those movies made an impact.

I work with someone who also has a precious metals business, so that’s kinda cool.
I read all the books when I was quite young. The Hobbit was my favorite unofficial one in the series though, I read that 4-5 times.

That’s very cool.
I think I might try to read the Hobbit again.

Gollum was not a troll, he was a Stoor Hobbit of the River-folk. He only became nasty after he was corrupted by the ring.

I figured the hobbit part but had no idea the ring corrupted him. I may have to give the books another try. Thanks for the details.

I’ve watched the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies. Loved them all, but you are correct…Gollum was a creepy little dude. I’d never want to run into him in a dark cave. Have a wonderful Saturday with family!

Thanks Mary! I might try the movies. Such good reviews and not the same as reading. Who knows I might like them
