The Secret to Happiness.

The best! Good stuff peeps! Take a look. You’ll be glad you did 😊

This is my place.

It’s really quite simple. Really.

A happy person is one who sees beauty all around them. Every time you see something beautiful, you get a little burst of happy juice. The more beautiful things you see, the happier you’ll be. (Looking in the mirror is nice but not a good single solution.)

I suppose one way to do this is to make lots of money and then live in an architect designed home, nail a trophy spouse, and surround yourself with great art. Listen to nothing but great music, wear nothing but haute couture and eat nothing but haute cuisine. This approach has problems. There is a long process of getting there which could get ugly if things don’t go right. Once you get there, you may have become too jaded to enjoy it. It is possible to become bored with great art. Not to mention how many bodies you stepped over on the way…

Wait! There was a book?

We are late to the Netflix game. Who knew how addictive television could be?

Rhetorical. Uh Duh!  <ahem>

We started binging Orange is the New Black this year. We had not been watching it lately because it’s not something to watch with your kiddo. But now that she’s back home … at her other home, we started up again.

Season 6 just started in July.  We are on episode 3 of Season 4  and quickly catching up. In any case, today I found out Orange is the New Black was a book before it was a Netflix series. I’m definitely going to scope that out.

As always more to come.

So, … Kind of Scary But Not

Not beating a dead horse (worst expression ever).  This time I am talking about how quickly we reverted back to life without Lulu.  Because guess what folks?  You can love your kids more than life but the natural of order of things is for them to move out and be independent.  Will make any time spent together that much more special.  ❤ ❤ ❤

As always more to come.

So I can find easier 🙂

J-Dubs Grin and Bear It

Me first: I keep a notepad and a pen with me when I’m reading my books. That’s a throwback from middle school when every time I found a word I didn’t know I wrote it down to look up in the dictionary later.

Do you remember the dictionary? It was that big old book that little kids used to sit on to be tall enough to reach the table. The one thing I will say I love about my Kindle is the built-in dictionary. Primo! Otherwise paper books to me are back in vogue.

With this book though instead of writing words I didn’t know, I wrote quotes that made me laugh or otherwise struck a cord with me. L = Lisa the mom and F= Francesca the daughter. Warning ⚠️ I relate more to the mom so I’ve got more mom quotes. None of the following are mine –…

J-Dub’s Review of I Need a Lifeguard  Everywhere But the Pool by Lisa Scottoline and Francesca Serritella

Tomorrow is book club and we are going over this book. Reblogging so I can find it. Saving trees by not printing out my review 🙂

J-Dubs Grin and Bear It

The title might be longer than the review because when something’s that good, you don’t need much to explain it.

In a word hilarious 😆

Quick chapters of real life observation. Very relatable humor. My only critique is the self deprecating comments about weight by someone who’s pixieish. Pictures don’t lie; you’re not the teddy bear 🐻you claim to be. Though I do like that your daughter says that about your sweats affectionately.

I still haven’t figured out a rating system so for now I’ll go with definitely recommended reading.

For 8/26/18 ~ What A Wonderful World Sung by Louis Armstrong

Time once again for #SLS.  Helen has stumped me with the prompt plan.  I do love a good challenge though.  I put my thinking cap on.  Googled synonyms.  Tried to think of something that fit.  Knowing all the while that plan should be easy for me because I am very analytical.  A planner and a plotter.  A list maker extraordinaire.  Hmmm!?!?!

When I think back over the last months about everything that has happened to my family directly, indirectly, or to people I know, I just want to crawl in bed and never get out.  Sleep until it is over.  The thing is that our troubles will never end; they will just change.  Plan as much as you like and sometimes fate intervenes and life does not go accordingly to plan. But something really wonderful about that is sprinkled among the worries and chaos is beauty and love. And that helped me select my song for today.

Without further ado.  What a Wonderful World.  Writer(s): DOUGLAS GEORGE, THIELE BOB.  Lyrics within the video.

And you’re welcome.  Keep on Smiling! How Sweet It Is! 🙂
