So, … Friendly Face Discount

I cleaned one room and took a break.

Get it?

Well you may need to go back to #SLS and my so, … post right before this one to truly understand.

Today has become theme based. Break free! Break the rules! Breaker, breaker 1-9. Ten 4 good buddy.

Doh! and Good lawd!

Any Who.  I made chicken manicotti for lunch and then I went to get the oil changed in B’s truck.

See y’all, I DO work!

Well if you call cooking and running errands work.  If not work, what would these “things” be called?  Activities.  Yep, I am going with that. Sounds much more like fun than work.

Of course you know I took my book to the oil change place.  Forced reading I call it.  As in nothing else to do while I am forced to wait.

And why not make use of every spare minute to read for fun and escape?

Why not?

No reasons?

Sunday is the best day to go.  No crowds.  I have done this 3 times now – my car, PoPo’s car and B’s truck.  Each time I pulled right into an open stall.  Saaweeet!

I got in two small chapters before I was called up to pay.

Cashier: So as B’s delegate, you are getting the friendly face discount.

Yes the cashier did say that and yes I laughed out loud.  The thought of myself as his delegate.  I don’t even have his POA.  Well except for medical decisions … the Medical SPOA.  And how did that thought get in here?  Get out damn thought.

And friendly face?  Uh not usually that’s for sure.  Kind eyes maybe.  Kind eyes definitely.  But if only he knew B’s reputation.

Wink, wink.  LOL!

Only people who knew him in junior high and/or high school have even a clue to what I am referring.  But I digress.  Back to checking out.

Me: What’s the friendly face discount?

Cashier:  Oh it is $10 off for our repeat customers.

Me: I never got that and I am a repeat customer.  I guess my face is angry?

Cashier: We used to send coupons but not many people brought the coupons with them.  So we made it automatic if you’re in the system.  You’ll get the friendly face next time.  It’s new.

Me: First time being in the system is a good thing.  Saaweet!

No I didn’t say the part about being in the system.  I did say saaweet though because it has been that kind of day.

B a friendly face.  Haha! I’m still SMH.

When I got home, I snapped my feature photo for this post.  The cutest little cattle egret you’ll ever see.  Caption This! 7/15/18.

As always, more to come.

  1. I found myself at my local pub on friday, sucking in the sun before we had a torrential rain storm. I had binoculars in the car boot and think i saw an egret across the river. Doesn’t happen that often in England; you are lucky to see them but cool enough to appreciate them I think!

    1. The egrets and other assorted beauties of nature are definitely appreciated around here. I’m a city girl in the country. Took me a while but now I enjoy 😊 it.
