I enjoyed reading this author. Big Little Lies. What Alice Forgot. The Husband’s Secret. Nice little gimmick in that all of her titles are three words. In Truly Madly Guilty, we have three couples and three girls whose lives intersect at a backyard barbecue and are forever changed. No spoilers. You’ll have to read the book to find out more.
The story is told in short alternating chapters from the day of the barbecue to present day back to the day of the barbecue to present day and so on. At one point even though I had seen the movie and read the synopsis I did not see the the high point coming. And I gasped at the scene. I believe you will too.
Overall I give this book a solid four out of five stars.
