The women from Grey’s dance it out. I write it out. Today I found a journal of mine from May 2000. What a blast from the past.
As I strolled down memory lane re-reading my prose, I realized the more things change, the more they stay the same. So much for growth. I am done. Not growing. I am done complaining. I am tossing my minor cares to the wind. Grateful for everything I have which is plentiful.
I sure could use a smile. We decided to clean out the old office. The one we used before we converted Pony’s bedroom into the new office. I found tons of memorabilia from 10 years ago. Hard to believe the kiddo who will turn 30 this month has been all ALONE out on his OWN for 10 years already. Well not exactly alone. He and Wise have each other.
He took the non-traditional route (or maybe the more traditional route for blue collar SA). After a semester in college, he worked at the Toyota plant. The money was good and the overtime plentiful but eventually the hours took it’s toll and he moved on to greener pastures at JPM. I remember crying buckets when he drove away to his place for the first/last time. B kept trying to get me back inside but I stayed there on the carport until it was so dark I could not see anything.
Today I picked Smile by Uncle Kracker. For no particular reason. The above musing is just me being sentimental on a Sunday. So what else is new? Sounds like a typical any day for ole J-Dub. I hope you enjoy.

You’re better than the best
I’m lucky just to linger in your light
Cooler then the flip side of my pillow, that’s right
Completely unaware
Nothing can compare to where you send me,
Lets me know that it’s OK, yeah it’s OK
And the moments where my good times start to fade
You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed, sing like a bird
Dizzy in my head, spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Oh, you make me smile
Even when you’re gone
Somehow you come along
Just like a flower poking through the sidewalk crack and just like that
You steal away the rain and just like that
You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed, sing like a bird
Dizzy in my head, spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Oh, you make me smile
Don’t know how I lived without you
Cause every time that I get around ya
I see the best of me inside your eyes
You make me smile
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed, sing like a bird
Dizzy in my head, spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Oh, you make me smile
Oh, you make me smile
Oh, you make me smile
