My Brain is Fried

Today was a banner day folks.  I want to write about it.  I must chop this day full of stories into pieces or I’ll lose most of you in the ramble that is flowing through my fried brain.

I have already tossed out:

New Day New Doc

So … 4/25/18

So … 4/25/18 at 6:28 PM CST

And these are all related to my physical ailments.

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor.

Duh!

But I do play one on TV.

No you most certainly do NOT J-Dub.

But I could.

Not you couldn’t.  Now move along.

Okay!  I share this with my disclaimer as this piece is not intended to be medical advice or take the place to seeking medical attention from someone who is properly trained.  <ahem> like you right?

Continuing, this is just me over sharing as usual on the off-chance someone can glean something good from my experience or have a big laugh.  Either way I score.

And this is just the prologue or post prologue to the above linked stories.  I am too over stimulated to write more now.  Besides Survivor is almost on.  My beloved and I are creatures of habit and we will watch.

Rolling billboard in doctors office telling me not to Google my symptoms. Will I ever learn?

Me: “I did not have a fragile fracture.”

Dr. “Really where did you go to medical school?”

Hahahahaha.  In my attempt to be an educated consumer of my own health, I look sH!t up.  I really do not believe breaking my arm was a fragile fracture because all 155 lbs of me fell about 4 feet onto solid rock.  Even a younger, stronger boned person may have had a break too.  Dr. agreed fragile fractures are debatable and proceeded to educate me. I may post a PSA soon.

Rules and Ping Back

As always, more to come.

So … 4/25/18

I think I’m going to start a so … series or category. Hope I don’t jinx things by announcing this plan like my other attempts to spruce up the place have failed.

So… I’m pleasantly surprised 😮. No treatment and repeat dexa in a year. I’ve been given a reprieve but now I really need to walk and do weight bearing exercises. Hopefully I’ll do it! Scared straight!!

Not quite done until the labs. Doc has left the room and I hear him lolly gagging. Hurry up! I’m ready to bolt.

As always more to come.

New Day New Doc

*** New patients arrive 30 minutes early or risk rescheduling ***

Considering this appointment is three months in the making, I’m 45 minutes early 😂

*** $100 fee for missed appointments or cancellations within 24 hours ***

I’m already leery of this place 😟

V is for Volunteer ~ April 25, 2018

Volunteer is the special V word I spoke of here.  The past few years, my employer has made volunteering in the community a priority.  Not that we didn’t volunteer before because we have always been a very service oriented organization (#weknowwhatitmeanstoserve) but the current CEO has upped the ante. We are even given paid time off during the work day to participate.

Perhaps because of my upbringing (my daddy was the epitome of generosity) or maybe my natural inclination, I am a good helper.  I am not exactly strong but like an energizer bunny that keeps going.  As I am uncomfortable with silence I work to AVOID the necessity of small talk.  While working a volunteer event the conversation is with regards to the what is being done … sort of pre-packaged discussion (for lack of a better way to put it).

And because my day job is a desk job, I welcome the change of pace.  I often wish I had stayed in a job that was more physically demanding.  Too bad my skill set runs in the soft and cerebral variety. And NO I did not mean to insinuate physical labor requires no thinking.  In fact, often times one has to be even more prepared and alert or you’ll lose an arm or something.

After a volunteer event, no matter the task, the reward is palpable.  What I do not like doing is tracking my hours.  Kind of defeats the purpose of just because doesn’t it?  I get tired sometimes of everything having to be quantified in some form or fashion.  No ulterior motives.  For me, giving is best without any expectation of reciprocity.  Boy wouldn’t reciprocity been a great R word 🙂

These two previously written posts sum up my sentiments perfectly.  Go on and click the links.  You know you want to.  I’ll be waiting right here.

Mother Nature Brings Us Together

A Picture is Worth Thousand Words

Okay and now that you’re back, get out there and spread some sunshine!  But only if you want to that is … because volunteer is the opposite of mandatory ya know.  Get it?  J-Dub’s humor attempt fails.  Nothing new to see here folks.  Move along.

As always, more to come.
